1 My life is likely to last 10-15 years ~ Any separation from you is likely to be painful ~

2 Give me time to understand what you want of me ~

3 Place your trust in me ~ It is crucial for my well-being ~

4 Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment ~

You have your work, your friends, your entertainments, but I have only you ~

5 Talk to me ~ Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me ~

6 Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it ~

7 Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to ~

8 Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me~ Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I may have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak ~

9 Please take care of me when I grow old ~ You too, will grow old ~

10 On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please ~ Never say you can't bear to watch ~ Don't  make me face this alone ~ Everything is easier for me if you are there ,~

Take a moment today to thank God for your pets ~ Enjoy and take good care of them ~ Life would be a much duller, less joyful experience without

God's critters.

We do not have to wait for Heaven, to be surrounded by hope, love and joyfulness.

It is here on earth and has four ( or just 2 ) legs!

There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face ...

Or a kitty in your lap purring ...

Or the soft snicker  of a horse as you enter the barn---

Live Well ~ Love Much ~ Laugh Often

That made me cry.
I like my cats more than I like most ppl.
My baby girl Starr, passed away in my arms 2 years ago. I still cry about her. She was 17.
I've always been there when my babies passed. I had Cuddles since she was a kitten and when she died (again in my arms) she started purring and smiling then stopped breathing. She was 21.

They are our special angels. It breaks my heart to see animals who are with people who don't appreciate them or take care of them. They deserve better.

omg, I had to put one of my special sweet kitties to sleep very recently... still not the same without him. I didn't realize you could be so sad, for so long. These little creatures are truly a gift from God.

I occasionally watch Animal Cops... very disturbing how a person can be so CRUEL to a defenseless animal.

Good post 2tickets. Made me remember my babies that I've lost. Every time one suffered, I chose to make thier journey easier, even though it made mine much, much harder.

I've had to euthanize three cats & two dogs (so far). I held every one of them as they slipped away.

I know it gave them peace & comfort to know I was holding and stroking them until they took their final breaths.

I dread the day I lose my babies, I know the day will come but it sure does hurt to think about it.

I have 2 dogs that havebeen with Me for 14+ years, and am dreading the day when I will lose them, they are great comapnions, and very loyal and loving , when My wife past away , they were great comfort for Me, even tho I was alone so to speak, I never came home to an empty house , and they were always right there to greet Me , I don't know how much longer they will live, but like all things, they eventually do end, I will miss them greatly !

Dak when that day comes, please open your heart to a couple of other angels, the shelters are full of sweet babies who would love to have a loving home like yours and would be a great comfort to you when you lose the others. Your dogs are very lucky to have you to care for them.

All my babies are street adoptions. All of them were alone and needed a home. I don't think I could be happy without them.

Hello! Isn't the Metroplex great? I was born and raised in Dallas and parents moved me to "the country" (Mesquite) in the 70's. Mesquite was far enough from Dallas to be the country but close enough to be convenient. I have seen this small town turn into a big city that continues to have small town charm. To experience a taste of this charm come on out in the Spring and enjoy the street festival and Rodeo Parade celebrating the opening of the Rodeo season, grab some tickets to the Rodeo and see first hand what the fuss is all about, stop in at Mesquite BBQ on any Friday or Saturday night or just cool your heels on the town square and enjoy the sounds of the Mesquite Opry and the occasional lazy train rolling through town. The spirit of the Mesquite High School Football games will take you back to a special place in your life, the sound of the bands, the trips to the snack bar, the sense of community coming together- nothing else like it! People still know their neighbors in Mesquite, watch out for one another in Mesquite, and proudly support our troops, police & fire departments, who not only serve and protect our community, but are also our friends and neighbors. Mesquite is the place for me!
