I have to admit I LOVE RAIN (in limited quanities).

My garden is in heaven.  My grass is greener than it has been in years.  It is so wet I havent mowed going on 8 days. It is tough on a lawnmower to mow wet grass. Everytime I get the chance it is raining.Thus....High grass and MUSHROOMS.

I have never grown or planted mushrooms...But they have sprouted up  like wildflowers. Little, brown, tiny,  delicate, mushrooms..By what seems like hundreds, though it is probably only a few.  I mentioned it to someone the other day laughing about it..Today they called and wanted to know how the " Mushroom Farm" was doing.?.

In four days, I now have them in my flower beds, greenhouse, and flower pots. It is tooooo funny..Anyone else out there have this problem? Oh this isnt including the Softball size Mushrooms in the front yard that you commonly see.  Is this some kind of strange phenonom? plague of mushrooms? Does this mean my soil is now sterile?Could this be the result of the consistant 1/2 inch of rain a day for the last few days? Yes in Southwest Euless, that has been my measurement for days. Funny, I get more than the airport and I am only 8 minutes west of there.

Back to the Mushrooms.No..they arent the eidible kind.

I can handle this weather all summer long..But , I dont think I want to be a Mushroom Farmer...HAHAHHAA Congratulations to the Forecasters they are 100% correct, with the acception of how much rain where I am..No report..Alas they cant report them all, so let me report at least 1/2 a day for the last several days...

i have noticed a few small gray toad stools in mainly shady areas...they are even in some pots on the patio...i think that means the PH level is neutral or low...not for sure though

I have only heard that it takes steril soil to grow them...Not sure if it is true. With all this rain, even the ground should be clean by now-HAHAHAHAA

AlwaysWatching, when you had mushrooms in your garden,it signifies the soil is acid.Mushrooms do extremely well in acid soil

Working wife, like to read, gain knowledge and listen to 4news weather and sports. I think the crew at 4 does a great job, to keep me informed, of the local information I need. Thanks for letting me blog it as I see it. I try to keep an open mind. This is the Llano Bald Eagles nest. It is as big as a bail of hay. Just like this large empty nest, I am enjoying my empty nest. I too circle my prey, but, waiting to feed my need for "intellegent input",not rodents..
