Valentine/

If you bring me chocolate or candy?
You know, that will just be dandy.
I like you just fine.
Now, won't you be mine?

If you bring me flowers and plants,
I cant get past the flies, bugs and ants.
So bring me a long stemmed red rose,
then we wont have to worry, about a little runny nose.

This time you bring me, diamonds so sweet
I remember how nice it is, you are so neat.
I like you so much more, than I ever did before.
What else did you buy, a house with a door?

You gave me a home, so loving and kind
I now know, you would never, leave me behind.
For us, now, is the place and time.
Arent you glad you, are my valentine?

author known(but not telling), just always watching!
Dedicated to my loving husband.

It is a beautiful Sunday Morning and the sun is shinning. As I wait for the games to come on, I am flipping thru the channels. I just realized, everyone is selling something. What happened to the western movies, reruns, etc? I hate paying cable charges to watch someone try to sell me something.
Now I dont know about anyone else, but this bugs the begebers out of me. Dont ask what begebers means.
I have counted out of my 96 channels 26 advertised sell programs, 12 spanish stations(non in english), 5 black stations, 22 church or religeous sites, 7 news stations, and the rest are children programming and music.
Where are my westerns ? on a pay per view channel. It is like they knew what I watched and decided I would have to pay seperate for it.
I hate Time Warner worse than I did Comcast. What a rip off. There was also a soap channel, its gone, along with my many other favorites.
I guess I will have to put up with Fox's paid programming. I know it is about money again..But, I am tempted to sue..What over? Half of the stations are not in English. I think if we translate to spanish, we should be able to translate back to english. Since I am paying for 96 stations, shouldnt they be in my language? Shouldnt they be my choice, not what is forced down my throat? The box can be programmed, but that also cost extra. What the Hello, am I paying for? Bad Programming x 96+ .30 minute sales pitches are not TV "programming" as I see it. What a rip off.

All summer long I have watched a young squirrel in my neighbors tree. His mother was run over in the street. Poor squirrel!
He worked day after day building a pretty good nest. I got to where I was putting treats out for him. It gave me great pleasure to enjoy this small free creature of the neighborhood. Maggie liked the squirrel too.
When the Fall came, I started putting out pecans for the squirrel. He gladly ate and stored as many as I put out. Since the pecan season here, wasnt that good, I tried to make up for the drought. At Christmas I put out a little extra food, in the spirit of the season. Yes OK I think I am Mrs.Clause. LOL
Yes, some will say squirrels are a nuisance. There is only one squirrel.
Last week, after going to the store,I arrived home and noticed men trimming my neighbors trees. Not thinking much about it, later that afternoon, I checked to see if the nuts I had put out, were gone. They had not been touched. I looked into the trees to see if I could see the squirrel. To my dismay the nest had been cut down, along with all the branches. The squirrel was nowhere to be seen. Poor Squirrel
It has taken a few days for the squirrel to calm down and come back. Yesterday, I found him curled up in my lawn chair. The chair was scooted up under the table, which in turn had a table covering on it. He had found comfort and some security in the cushion on the chair. Poor Squirrel!
My little friend is back. I know if he stays where he is, the cushion will be torn and ripped up. The stuffing will be used to build his next nest. I don't have the heart to "Put the cushions up" as my hubby suggested. Some how I feel responsible, as a human, that the squirrels home was taken away. How would you like to have your home torn down, in the dead of winter? Yes, it is just a squirrel. I remember!
Now with the cold and no where else to build his nest, I feel I must replace what mankind took from him.
His trust in my food supply and water, caused him to build, where he built. Also, because they stay in the area they are born.
My neighbor knew nothing about the nest or the squirrel..
I now feel like I am decieving the squirrel. He will meet the same fate of his mother, poor squirrel.

Working wife, like to read, gain knowledge and listen to 4news weather and sports. I think the crew at 4 does a great job, to keep me informed, of the local information I need. Thanks for letting me blog it as I see it. I try to keep an open mind. This is the Llano Bald Eagles nest. It is as big as a bail of hay. Just like this large empty nest, I am enjoying my empty nest. I too circle my prey, but, waiting to feed my need for "intellegent input",not rodents..
