We were just having a conversation with a gentleman, yesterday, who was not aware of the dangers of Aspartame and today, this article (see below) arrives in our inbox.  I wanted to make sure that others are aware of this danger... 200,000 million peope worldwide consume Aspartame and it's found in 6,000 different products!

How Does Aspartame Damage Your Brain?

Consuming a lot of aspartame may inhibit the ability of enzymes in your brain to function normally, according to a new review by scientists from the University of Pretoria and the University of Limpopo.

The review found that high doses of the sweetener may lead to neurodegeneration. It has also previously been found that aspartame consumption can cause neurological and behavioral disturbances in sensitive individuals.

Specifically, the review found a number of direct and indirect changes that occur in your brain as a result of high consumption levels of aspartame, including disturbing:

  • The metabolism of amino acids
  • Protein structure and metabolism
  • The integrity of nucleic acids
  • Neuronal function
  • Endocrine balances

(click on the link above to continue reading... you will be shocked!)

Please help spread the word to your family and friends who continue to consume diet foods laced with Aspartame.

A little aviation newspaper called General Aviation News did a story on some pilots who lost their licenses because they used Aspartame in hot coffee. It seems that it showed up in the bloodstream as alcohol. This was fifteen years ago and the manufacturer threatened a lawsuit. The paper isn't around anymore to my knowledge.

Aspartame is like everything else - must be used in MODERATION. Consuming too much sugar or fat can cause serious health problems also (cancer, high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes, heart attack, death, etc.). My mother, a lovely lady, drank diet sodas in moderation for years with no problems. She died of old age at 89. I also have drank diet sodas (w/aspartame), and currently drink diet green tee with aspartame (once a day) with no problems. I think this is just a scam by fatties who are jealous of those who keep their weight in line by using diet foods. I have an overweight member of my family and her overweight friend who have been carping at me about aspartame. Enough already!!!

I think some of these prescription drugs people are taking are much more dangerous than aspartame!

If you are in your 50's and older, then your body can handle the toxins better because you grew up with eating foods that still had good nutrition without the excess toxins added to them. Now days, the foods that are consumed no longer have much nutritional value not to mention more processed foods (ie fast food, microwavible meals, etc.) are being consumed on a regular basis.

If you are in your 40's or younger, then consuming high amounts of Aspartame can cause much more damage to your body since most of the younger generations are not getting proper nutrients to begin with.

I do think prescription drugs are more dangerous than people think. Blindly following the advice of a doctor who is not interested in changing someone's diet is dangerous too.

There are naturally many "companies" out there that stand to benefit from Aspartame consumption and would like to put our minds at ease about it's consumption, however...

The multi-billion dollar aspartame industry would like you believe that "aspartame kills" is an "urban legend" and that you'd have to drink 100 cans of diet soda a day to be harmed by aspartame. This is just simply not true. Their main claim is that the 3 components of aspartame are found in many natural foods and are therefore safe. This is kind of like saying carbon monoxide is safe because all it contains is carbon & oxygen, the same components of carbon dioxide. Methanol (wood alcohol), which makes up 10% of aspartame and is highly toxic (adult minimum lethal dose is 2 teaspoons), is also found in some fruits & vegetables like tomatoes. However, methanol is never found in natural foods without ethanol & pectin, its "antidotes" if you will (detailed facts below). Ethanol & pectin prevent methanol from being metabolized into formaldehyde (embalming fluid) & formic acid (same chemical as fire ant venom), both deadly toxins. An ethanol drip is even the standard emergency room treatment for methanol poisoning. Aspartame contains no ethanol or pectin, therefore the methanol is converted to formaldehyde and formic acid. Phenylalanine and aspartic acid, the other 2 components of aspartame, are amino acids found in natural foods but always as part of long chains of many different amino acids to form complex protein mo

to form complex protein molecules that take humans 12 hours to gradually break down & assimilate. According to the doctors below, when consumed by themselves these 2 amino acids require no digestion and quickly enter the brain & central nervous system at abnormally high levels, overstimulating brain cells to death and causing many other health problems.

That is true about the 40's and younger people's diets. Many have said to me "I don't know how to eat right". This is pathetic. I was taught this in school (eat 7 different colors of food a day which should include food from the major food groups), and also my mother served this type of food to our family. I still eat that way today. I rarely eat processed food. I have lots of fresh fruits and venetables, lean meat, low fat dairy, and rice or pasta for carbos. I also take nutritional supplements. It makes a huge difference in your health and your ability to fight off toxins and germs. Bad diet (especially lack of B vitamins) could be responsible for much of the mental problems we see in our society today. You have a choice - spend money on good food or the doctor.
