Anzac's Blog

This is the Statement of Faith of the church that Obama is a member of:

We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism. It is God who gives us the strength and courage to continuously address injustice as a people, and as a congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a Black worship service and ministries which address the Black Community.

Trinity United Church of Christ adopted the Black Value System written by the Manford Byrd Recognition Committee chaired by Vallmer Jordan in 1981. We believe in the following 12 precepts and covenantal statements. These Black Ethics must be taught and exemplified in homes, churches, nurseries and schools, wherever Blacks are gathered. They must reflect on the following concepts:

  1. Commitment to God
  2. Commitment to the Black Community
  3. Commitment to the Black Family
  4. Dedication to the Pursuit of Education
  5. Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence
  6. Adherence to the Black Work Ethic
  7. Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect
  8. Disavowal of the Pursuit of "Middleclassness"
  9. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the Black Community
  10. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting Black Institutions
  11. Pledge allegiance to all Black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System
  12. Personal commitment to embracement of the Black Value System.

The Pastor as well as the membership of Trinity United Church of Christ is committed to a 10-point Vision:

  1. A congregation committed to ADORATION.
  2. A congregation preaching SALVATION.
  3. A congregation actively seeking RECONCILIATION.
  4. A congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA.
  5. A congregation committed to BIBLICAL EDUCATION.
  6. A congregation committed to CULTURAL EDUCATION.
  7. A congregation committed to the HISTORICAL EDUCATION OF AFRICAN PEOPLE IN DIASPORA.
  8. A congregation committed to LIBERATION.
  9. A congregation committed to RESTORATION.
  10. A congregation working towards ECONOMIC PARITY

This is Anzac back now... I know I will be branded a racist for this, but I do not care. I do wonder what would be said if it a "white church that said the same thing. Instead of Africa, they say Europe.

Unfortunately or not, the supposedly-retired Jeremiah Wright opened his mouth again at a funeral, hating America (dude, go back to Africa, just GO BACK TO AFRICA, and there, hate America at your pleasure, but don't sit here in our country, blaming us for things we cannot possibly have done, seeing as how we weren't even alive!), anyone who says that this person has no effect on me because he is retired is nuts, just look at the Reverend Billy Graham, long retired, yet looked on by a grateful nation with affection and looked to for advice... you are like those you see counsel from...

OK, Here I go. I guess I will step off in it. None of the black people alive now were slaves. We as "White Americans" do not owe the black community a dam_ thing. I did'nt whip, cuss, beat, or enslave anyone, and I don't know anyone alive today that did. I think it's good for the black community to help and support each other, but don't bit_h at us when we do the same. We are tired of all the crying about poor us, poor black this, poor black that. Get jobs, pay taxes, work hard, and live right. If you have a job, and pay taxes, this blog isn't for you.

First off what ever their church statement is that does not reflect what every other black church states. I agree majority of people that were slaves have died but not all of them. I don't beg for anything i went and got my education to make something of my self. I agree people need to stop blaming, cuz they have to do for themsleves first. but another note lets not turn our head like racism doesn't exist. who knows what people may still be going through in some places. If the tables were turned and whites went through what blacks did it would be the same results. And just know not all black people are saying you owe them anything, because i definately am not i was raised knowing where i come from but i don't dwell on it that was i don't even know how many years ago. And you say blacks are always saying White America owes them, are they talking about the average person like you or more superior people like think about it. You comment on that but like what would we ask you for? Seriously? I would say ask Michael Jordan or someone before i would say ask an average person, why would blacks ask someone average when they can get an education and make the money middle class would make. seriously. I am not trying to get into a racist argument cuz that's not me, sometimes i just read stuff and i want to comment. Please reply back but i don't need any name calling etc, cuz its not worth the typing, Also something is definately wrong with Obama's pastor ive never heard a pastor talk like that.

It's strange that you don't see the Indian people always up in arms over what happened to their ancestors, like all the other races do.

Guess they deserved what happened to them !

Furbie, I think Native Americans were so beaten down and killed off, they don't have any fight left.

"I agree majority of people that were slaves have died but not all of them."

I am confused by that comment.

Please don't take out of context what i said. Lets be professional no one deserves the what ever their ancestors went through. No one so im not saying it was alright, if u read and thought about all i said i stated i agree no one owes any one anything. Its strange you seem to know what everyone deals with everyday so who can say they do or dont grieve? Thats like saying its cool how people treat arabians although they still feel they were apart of osama bin laden's group or hispanics who have to be treated wrongly although they are just trying to take care of their families like everyone else does.

But the main thing all of the black white asian indian, hispanics etc belly achers need to do is get off their but and do something with their lives because no one cares so they need ot look out for themselves and stop blaming others.

AJ, That's all I am trying to say also. We need everyone to unite and fight for our freedom as a nation together, not as groups according to race or color. I don't feel anyone of us owes another due to past events out of our control. Slavery was wrong, and it was abolished years ago. Let's all move ahead and fry the Bigger Fish.

Anzac I like what you wrote at the start of this blog, and agree with you about what would happen if all that was written in the churches commitments were "White" or like you said European, get real people all your commitments for the Trinity church are just words, yada, yada ,yada, a lot of blacks have a lot to say but they are saying nothing, as do many people, they would be better to take more action then words which speaks the loudest, if you are all so committed to Africa then do more to help them, they are the real poor blacks here, you in America have ever opotunity to make something of yourself, but would rather beg, STEAL or find other ways of getting what you want, that is what everone is tired of hearing, yes you were done wrong in the days of slavery, get over it, and move on, but most of you find it easier to just whine and complain! and no I'm not a racist but sick and tired of hearting it all the time.

aj, you are right in what you say about people need to stop complaining and get off their butts and do something, but to say that no one cares, well I wouldn't say that, everone has their cross to bear these days, some more then others, but if they would just do more to help themselves then maybe they would geet more help.

In Africa today White famers are having their lands taken from them. Just becuase the Government of Zimbabwe wants the land to go back to the blacks of that nation.
Now they have to buy food from other countries. Where is the out cry? Why is the U.N. not doing anything to help these farmers? And what about the U.S. or the U.K.?
Can we not sent in troops to bring order to this once wealthy nation?

AJ you are wrong in that you say that some people who were slaves are still alive today. They would be the oldest people alive. Slavery in this country ended in 1865.
So please check your facts. Also slavery was not started by whites, but the African slaves were first sold by BLACK Afircans!!! Also I was not saying all black church's believe what Jug Head's Church does.
my wife is from the US and many years ago a black friend of hers took her to Friendship West Baptisit Church.
There a lady was yelling at my wife that whites were not welcome there, and she was there to bring down the blacks and to enslave them again.
Well if that happand in a "white church" then that church would be so far in the poo it would never get out.
When I was in the Texas National Guard, One of my sergeant's asked me this: Do I think that segregation is still going on in this country?
I said yes it is. It is going on in Church.
The bible says that in Christ there is no race all are the same in the eyes of God.

I wanted to add this as well. Obama's Church is about Black Power...is that not racist? When a white yells white power that not ok. But if a black guy says black power then it is ok/ Why the double standard?
