The YOUNGER they are...
The SOONER They LEARN...
That "READERS ARE LEADERS"...
In the MAYOR'S SUMMER READING PROGRAM.
And in this week's installment of "WHERE IN THE DALLAS LIBRARY SYSTEM IS BARON JAMES," kiddos-- ages 1 to 7.. and I had a blast during storytime at the *Fretz Park Library Branch on Beltline in Far North Dallas. And I have to tell you as much fun as we had, this group presented a different sort of challenge--how long could I hold the attention span of basically 1, 2, and 3 year olds. (Typically my MSRP audiences are a little older.) Well, thank goodness the kid in me took over! So along with a couple of books with lots and lots of colorful pictures, my hyperkinetic enthusiasm to get them involved, and really a fun group of kids, we made it work! So far..at the Fretz Branch *600 kids.. have signed up for free.. in the MSRP.. and system wide.. we're closing in the 14-thousand mark. (Our goal's around 20K). And it's still not too late for you to sign up kids who not only read for fun and overall learning but also for great prizes. And stay tuned for more information about a big party coming up for all participants. And remember it's not how many books kids read or have read to them, but the amount of time spent just reading...that counts! And the kids don't have to live in Dallas to participate.Fox 4 and my27.. are proud sponsors.. of the reading program.

It is so exciting to share my thoughts with YOU through MYFOXDFW.COM and to read all about what YOU have to say about practically any and everything--from family, politics, and games to FOX4NEWS stories. Our blog on MYFOXDFW sets us so far apart from other tv news station blogs because MYFOXDFW is just that--it's personally YOURS & mine. It's another great way for us to communicate...for us to get to know one another. In fact you can think of me as your own personal FOX4NEWS/MYFOXDFW BLOG CORRESPONDENT. So feel free to leave me a comment(s) on my blog at "BARONVONBLOGLOG"...hmmm maybe that should be the name of the tv segment? At any rate there's so much more (ie. photos, my hobbies, etc) that I'll be sharing with you from Baron's world in the days and weeks and years to come. I look forward to hearing from you.
