THIS JUST IN...
The Mayor's Summer Reading Program PARTY scheduled for Saturday morning (Aug. 18th/TAX FREE DAY) has been moved from the Dallas City Hall Plaza. BLAME IT ON THE POSSIBILITY OF RAIN!!!
It will now be held at the main branch of the Dallas Public Library, 1515 Young Street, Dallas (just right across the street from City Hall).
The party starts at 10:10am. An awards program will begin between 10:15am-10:38am. AND THE BIG PARTY RUNS UNTIL NOON!!
Mayor ProTem Elba Garcia and hopefully most if not all of the nearly 17,000 (2006: 15,380) kiddos who particpated in the 2007 MSRP and read 393,104 hours (2006: 380,748)...will all be there.
I'll definitely be there to congratulate the kids and serve as mcee of the special awards ceremony.
So, I hope to see you there!!
