'Toil and risk are the price of glory".

(Alexander the Great)

Are you a risk-taker?

Are you conservative?

Do you wish you were  different than you are in this regard?

I have read where people worked an ordinary job for 35 years, and saved---always saved and was frugal ---and would up having a million dollars at the time of retirement.

When I look around and see how we, and our kids, and our grand-kids spend our money, I  have a sick feeling.

We eat out too much.  We buy presents and clothes that we could all do without.  We entertain ourselves, and make gluttony, and think it is the way to live.

Is it?

You can make it two ways:  either toil   or take risks.

Which do you prefer?

take the risks..... life is to short to spend it worrying and working for nothing but your old age! and yes, a wise, or even an intelligent person will plan those so-called golden years. but in the meantime....LIVE A LITTLE!!!!

Risk it. I'm pretty sure I won't live that long.

Why don't you think you will live that long?

BTW I read your bio
You say you do not like 'anything traditional'
What does that mean ...exactly?
And, have you gotten into the better housing you needed?

,,,and another question motoxcoma
why is it that on all your postings
you do not allow for
people to comment?
do you not WANT comments?

Sorry.. just got this post haha. I took the posts off cause there are people in here that have never been in that situation and live in their bubble. They'd rather try to push their arrogance, religious beliefs est... When they have always lived with a silver spoon in their mouth.
Which is also why I said I don't like anything traditional. Religion and Traditions in Utah tend to run side by side.
I got enough of that when I was 8-21yrs old.
Actually no ... nothing got fixed. I'm actually getting a third job starting Feb 1st. So I can pay my extra rent, medical bills & more childcare expenses.
I see why people snap and rob banks, bomb buildings est..

Thanks for your response.
a 3d job...
how in the world is there time enough for a THIRD job?
with 3 kids...who keeps them?
just wondering for i am a grand dad and step grand dad.
..
the reason i ask about your 'traditional' comment is that...
some 'tradition' tends to keep all of us in a more 'responsible' life-style.
..do you agree or disagree with that?

disagree cause most of the traditions most think of are to control someone elses actions, not their own.
So the 3 jobs went well until I got burnt out and quit 2 of them. The third one lasted for awhile and was great. Great benefits, money est... but then I got laid off. hmmmm....
I gave up.

I am still cogitating about this info. I rather doubt if anything I say will change a heart or a life, but one never knows.
