What are some of your favorite winter time foods or meals? You know, the ones that hit the spot on those really cold days? One of our favorites is one that lots of people like, chilli with beans and lots of cheddar cheese on top. That always seems to hit the spot on a cold day. Another favorite is one my Mother-in-law makes, which is chicken and rice with tomato sauce. I also make that one sometimes. That one is sooo good on a winters day or any day. Another one of her favorites is chicken with squash and corn. It can also be made with pork instead of chicken, if you prefer. Serve that with some corn or flour tortillas, and you've got a great tasting meal sure to warm the soul. So what are some of your favorite winter time meals?

Oh - I LOVE chili! I eat it the same way!!

But - ANYTHING in the crockpot.... I prefer beef stew.

Stuff that makes you so hot you start to sweat! That is what I like in the winter - and since I do NOT do spices of any kind - I like the hot as in cooked-hot stuff.

I love taco soup, just letting it simmer in the crock pot all day, with crushed tortilla chips on top of it, and maybe mix in some shredded cheese. A meal in itself, indeed, and very comforting on the coldest of days!

I am always ready for chili. My friend makes chili spaghetti. Buy a sack of Carroll Shelby's chili mix (a small paper sack), mix according to directions. It doesn;t have to cook as long as chili. I pour the meat mixture over spaghetti, top with sour cream, chopped onion, Rotel, and cheese. It has a nice Mexican food taste. I also enjoy salmon soup and jalapeno soup.

If there's one thing I'm qualified to comment on it's food.
- Chicken and dumplings
- My wife's chicken tortilla soup
- navy beans and hamhock
and I'm going to go yankee on you here:
- New England dinner: boiled corned beef and cabbage.

Teriyaki chicken strips
chicken flavored rice
1 acorn squash
cilantro (diced small)
parcley
Cover middle of plate to the edge of plate before where you grab it, with the rice. Place the acorn squash in the middle of it, cooked well done in butter and brown sugar on the inside. One half on each plate in the middle. Surround that with teriyaki chicken strips twice (if you have enough). Sprinkle some DRIED DICED cilantro over the whole dish including where you grab the plate and for garnish put the parcley where you see fit. Nice, hot and sweet to the taste! Garauntee warmer upper with a full happy tummy! I made it once for my dad and he told me to write my own cook book. No desert needed after words, just a tooth pick! ENJOY!

You lose me on the squash, but the rest of it sounds delicious!
