People sometimes have a tendency to accidently spill a secret that they have been asked not to share with anyone. You know how the old addage goes, "You tell two people, and they tell two people, and so on and so on." These are usually refered to as a slip of the tongue. Some of these sayings are, "Loose lips, sink ships", or one of my all time favorites, "Who let the cat out of the bag?" A really rude one that I used to hear years ago was, "You big blabber-mouth!" What are some old sayings that you know of, that deal with the "Slip of the tongue?"

"People sometimes have a tendency to accidently spill a secret that they have been asked not to share with anyone."

I don't think this is as much as an accident as one would think. We all have someone we trust and discuss things with and when most do this they are simply conversing with a good friend they trust and discussing what is going on in their lives.

I think it is an accident that so many may find out because each has a person they trust and the circle continues.

It makes it difficult to tell someone something they want held in strict confidence because most people do have someone they confide and trust and before you know it the original secret is know by many more than was intended.

I have always kept confidences even when it is difficult for this reason. Guess that is why I have so many people come to me because I do have a policy of not confiding anyone else's problems or situations cause it is disheartening when you find out someone other than who you intended knows about it. When you have someone you can completely confide in and trust you have someone truly valuable that should be treasured.

I like to say "you're windier than a sack full of farts" or "you've got enough air in your head to keep a windmill going." :)

Hey Dallas and Grims! I'm up to my ears in college textbooks. I retired from my police dept job in May with 22 years of service, then I got a part time job at a law office and I'm also going to college part time working on getting my associates degree. I catch a Rangers game here and there but really haven't kept up. I try to be supportive of the Cowboys, but baseball runs in my veins. I'll pop in every now and then to say boo.

Telephone, telegraph and tell a ------?
my name begins with a "T"

i'm lovingly known as the mouth of the south.
Now that does not mean i cannot keep confidential information. I am trustworthy! but i do like to talk...thus the name chatterbug!
