I was fortunate enough to see an early screening of the upcoming Fox Searchlight Pictures movie titled "The Wrestler" starring Mickey Rourke, and it was excellent. Now I may be a bit biased being a wrestler myself, but this movie is already generating Oscar buzz for Mickey Rourke, and when seeing the movie you'll know why. The movie depicts Rourke as a wrestler named Randy "The Ram" Robinson, who was a huge star but through trials and tribulations, ends up down on his luck struggling to get by in life while still wrestling at an older age. Without giving away too much, the movie does a great and very realistic job of showing how life is for wrestlers on the independant circuit, and brings you almost behind the scenes of what things are really like. Here is the trailer, and I hope you get to check it out when it hits theaters next Friday.

Hello everyone! Just wanted to thank you all for your suggestions on my new "good guy" wrestling name. After being a "bad guy" for 8 and a half years, its strange beeing cheered instead of boo'ed but its all good. So I decided to go with the last name Diamond, bit I put my own wrestling twist to be original and spelled it with a Y. So Rob Dyamond was born this past Saturday and things went well. I'll be out in Chicago this Saturday night. I'll let you know how it and my opponent goes down!!
Speaking of going down. Im ready when you guys are for the next Good Day meet and greet which seems to be shaping up to be Team Ines(who will be victorious) vs. Team Mike!! Im sure it'll be a great time. Take care!!

Hey everyone. Im looking for some help from you all today. Im looking for a possible new wrestling name. I have been a "bad guy" in the business for the past 8 and and half years and may very soon be one of the "good guys". Robert Pigeon doesnt cut it for a fan favorite, so maybe you guys could help me out with some suggestions. Of course I'll give you credit if I like your name the best, but the bloggers here at Fox have been great and I would really appreciate your suggestions. Thanks for your help in advance!!

I grew up as a wrestling fan from the time I was 5 years old and always dreamed of doing it as my job. I of course grew up watching Hulk Hogan and the other stars, and looked up to them as larger than life heroes, the way some look at Superman or Batman. At the age of 12, as I was growing up and really started thinking about wrestling when I got older, I began to idolize Shawn Michaels. I liked him because he wasnt the biggest, and wasnt the baddest, but he was great at what he did, and seemed to have a passion for it. Well to make a long story short, I had the chance to meet and shake hands with him at the age of 16 and the rest is history. I started training right after I graduated High School, and started my wrestling career. At the time Shawn was my inspiration for what he was in the ring. It wasnt until a few years ago that I found out what he was going through personally all those years, and how that led him to God. Although I can thankfully say that drinking or drugs has never been an issue, there are other issues that go on inside of everyone that we deal with on a daily basis. So even in my late 20's in still learning from my childhood hero, and now its that as long as we trust in our Lord and Savior, there is not chance that we shouldnt take because were afraid, and no dreamsthat we should not try to fulfill. What has changed for me now that I do wrestle, is that now my dream is to have the impact on just 1 person in my life that Shawn has had for me. If you have an extra 6 minutes check out this video of Shawn from the 700 club. Take care!!

I wanted to thank Mike Woods for hooking me up with a really cool morning. Ive been a fan of Fox 5 for years, and consider watching every morning part of my daily routine. I also have a crush on Ines Rosales that is well documented. LOL Anyway, I work as a pro wrestler, and have for the past 8 years, and have my sights set on one day making it to the WWE. When I heard that Mike and the crew would be at the WWE block party for MyNetwork 9 I figured I'd head out and meet the crew and some of the wrestlers, 2 of which I know through a friend. I got up at 4 and took the train in from Central Jersey. Got there around 6:30 and saw Mike hanging out. He went out of his way to be nice to everyone around and he really is a very great guy. He doesnt just play one on TV. I got a pic and talked with him for a few minutes. Of course he knew me from the blog, and as the guy who likes Ines...anyway I asked about saying Hi to Ines, and even though the security was very tight with the block party, he still managed to keep an eye out for me and even let me know when I would be able to say hi to Ines. Very cool day, and I also got to meet Anne Craig who was also great and took a pic. She thought I said my name was Barbie at first, which I hope I dont look like, lol, but she was great. And I got to mingle with some of the wrestlers that I know. It was a great day, and again thank you Mike for hooking me up. And thank you Ines for the hello!! ;)

Ines, first Reid gets married and brags about his tan for 2 hours, then Mike gets a mini-vacation out West..why do you get stuck with no vacation? I know you love your job, but Im sure you deserve some time on an island too. So im thinking, just run it by your bosses, and we'll go wherever you want!! ;) Or you can go and tell me about it!! Hope things are going good, besides the UN traffic.

Hey MyFoxNY.com bloggers. Fox's favorite wrestler, me, will be in action twice this coming Saturday at the Monster Factory Pro Wrestling School in Bellmawr, NJ, just off exit 3 of the NJ turnpike. They are holding a tournament for the OTW tag team championship, and I will be in action with a good friend of mine. The first round takes place at 2pm, and the semi-finals, and finals will take place at 7pm. If youre in the area and want to see some great pro wrestling action, check it out. The shows are very family oriented, and fun for all ages! Wish my opponents luck because I'm ready to go like I am every morning at 4:55am watching Good Day!! Thanks for reading, and I'll let you all know the results!!

I receieved an email today that I wanted to share with you that made me do a lot of thinking. Im fairly new to the MyFoxNY blog, but a lot of the great people I have talked to know that I am pro wrestler. It was my dream from the time I was 5. Now Im 28, and have been doing it for over 8 years. Growing up I had the chance to meet several wrestlers at differnt events. Some were very nice and down to earth, and some would blow off a 5 year old kid who just wanted an autograph. I always told myself that if I was ever lucky enough to wrestle, that I would always treat the fans the way I wanted to be treated as a youngster. Although I have never had the oppurtunity to meet my 2 role models growing up, both WWE wrestler Shawn Michaels, and the Knight Rider himself, David Hasselhoff have both impacted my life enough to want to do good for others now.
I did a small local show in Westiville, NJ on the 4th of July about 5 years ago. There were several underprivledged children at the show. I met with most of them after my match for pictures and autographs. One child who stood out to me was in a wheelchair and was a big fan of mine, which was surprising because I am a "bad guy" in the ring. He asked me for my wristbands when I signed his picture, and of course I gave them to him. To me it was just something nice to do considering I am very blessed, and some children fight so hard to be strong.
To try to make a long story short, I received an email from the childs mother telling me that her son passed away due to complications of his illness. But she thanked me for making such a difference in her childs life. Evidently for the passed 5 years, he wore out those wristbands, and talked everyday about how he was going to get better so he could be a wrestler one day. To me, just being a performer, and being able to have that impact just one 1 persons life, is the reason I got into wrestling. Hopefully we'll meet in the big ring upstairs one day. But the lesson here is that you never know how much of an impact you can have on someone by doing so little. Thats enough to make me get through the day.
Take Care,
Bobby
