I know this goes without saying, but there's been a ton of work done on Central the last couple of years.  Still, the traffic jams up on a daily basis going up through Allen into Plano and that trouble can be traced to the on and off ramps around Bethany.  Well, TxDOT believes they can rectify the situation with a little tweak.

Starting Monday, TxDOT crews will start an eight-month, $1.6 million ramp reversal project at southbound 75 and Bethany Drive in Allen. Sounds crazy, but it just might work!  Here's what you need to know: The entrance ramp at Bethany will be closed starting Monday. Later, the Frontage Road exit ramp will be closed.  The project is expected to be completed in April 2009....oh and there will be message boards along the project to guide you through.

So what do you think?  Will the reversal help?  Or will it add confusion to the congestion?

I'm thankful I live nowhere near that quagmire.

On another note, I have a suggestion.

Take Doocy and put him on the traffic desk where you are and YOU do sports.

I'm so sick of Doocy I now turn the channel when he opens his yap. You're a sports nut, go for it! lol

Thanks Scotty...but I don't think I could put up with the egos/attitudes of the players for long. Granted some of 'em are great...

You may have the answer, Chip! Maybe some of that "ego stuff" has taken ahold of Doocy. I got to the point I turn the channel when he comes on.

In my opinion, Mike is one of the nicest guys in that business. Give 'em another chance! Maybe you've just caught him on a couple of bad days.

He may be a nice guy, Chip, I can't dispute that.

But from my observations, and in all of my years of watching sports reporters, in 11 states and myriad cities, he is the most negative person towards the home team I have ever encountered.

Hey, better quit goofing around playing football when you're supposed to be on camera. Doh!

Welcome to the chopper zone! If you're new to the area let me introduce myself. My job for FOX 4: Be the eyes that guide you to the traffic troubles around the Metroplex! I'm a Texan through and through--born in Austin, raised in North Texas with a degree from TCU. My wife and I have been married for 12 years and we have 2 kids. I love playing golf and watching all sports. I also like to sing and play guitar. My secret goal? Someday I'd love to build my own golf course....but having the ability to retire on one would be great too! If there's anything I can do to help you plan routes through this busy part of Texas please let me know and as always: have a "Good Day!"
