Coltrane...

My husband used to study Coltrane, Davis, Monk, and many more. He learned to play, listening to these amazing artists.

He talked me into going to a Miles Davis concert once, and I was certain that I wouldn't enjoy it. I love jazz, but Davis, Coltrane and the likes are maybe a little too deep for me. Contemporary jazz is more my click...Boney James and the like.

Anyhoo...

I went.

And, I tell you...Davis did Cindy Lauper's "Time After Time" and I was floored! He is amazing. WAS amazing! So, I will join you in celebration of his birthday. He is missed. Did you know that he was married to Cicely Tyson?
