It looks like it would be better for you to be at home and have a home nurse. I don't know why Medicare wouldn't pay for this as it would be less expensive?
Hope you get better.

Hi Cuejoe, sorry to hear you have been so ill, and having problems.

Is your brother still with you?
You need someone to come stay with you and help you. Is there any of your relitives that could help you. Do you have any children?
Sorry for all the questions but was just wondering.

Medicaid WILL pay for home nursing visits or hourly care. Try the visit route first - I used to do it - and Medicaid WILL pay - and maybe go on Hospice?

I know the "hospice" word is so finalizing, but I had patients who were on hospice for over a year. Talk to your doctor - tell him your limits - and KNOW what your options are - Home nursing, Home visits, Hospice, etc. Ask him about those.

I will keep you in my prayers.

Please look into home healthcare. A friend of mine does this very things and I know they DO take medicaid and medicare because she has so much paperwork to fill out on a daily basis. Also, check online and see if there is a support group for your family. It could be that there would be someone willing to help out, even if it's just getting groceries and walking the dog. I think sometimes doctors have access to too much technology and forget that there is such a thing as quality of life. Stay safe, make sure to eat (you could be eligible for Meals on Wheels) and try to see if there is some group that would check on you. I think maybe your doctor is afraid you are so isolated that you might get sick and no one would know. Stay sweet and have a good day.

hey girl. Sounds like you need some more friends so here I am. You can email me at laurabeth@edgemontpark5.com

I love doggies. I have a lab/hound mix--she is the best dang dog I have ever had. I gave her a bath today and boy did she stink! I bought her some bones, biscuits and some nail clippers for her nails today --at the dollar store. She is so good with my daughter and our two cats and makes sure to scare all of the stray cats away from the house.

I took care of my Grandma for 2 years. It might be a good idea to find a young Mother who might need a little extra help, just like you. She might need a washer and dryer to wash her clothes. You could, perhaps, find someone who could help you around the house and prepare meals. A student would be a good candidate. There are a lot of people that need the little things. When I was going to Richland Community College-- I lived in Oak Cliff off of Marsalis and I would have done just about anything for a hot meal, and some clean clothes, and some company. I lived off of eggs, tortillas, and tamales from the Tortilla factory. The joke was we ate tamales so much we were shi##in' tamales! lol.

Hey-why don't you contact the local school and see if there's a teenager that could do easy errands and housekeeping for you? It's really hard right now for kids younger than 17 to find work and if it was two or three days a week after school, it would be manageable. Be sure that you set it up where you can do all your bill paying and banking online-that will relieve a great deal of pressure. I still say check to see if you are eligible for Meals On Wheels or other community services. If you have a local church, ask them if they have a group that helps people in your situation. I know my church has a group that will fix meals, mow lawns, take care of pets on a rotating basis. It would give you a stream of new friends and a distraction that you need. If you don't have a church, contact the nearest one and ask if someone can help. You would be surprised how many people are willing. Best wishes.

Cujoe I had no idea you were so ill. I sat here reading and crying for you.
You are so young to be battling such a terrible disease.
My prayers go out for you.
Don't give up keep fighting.
The March of Dimes provides home nurses and have volunteers that will come to your home and help you out with everything.
