It's easy to point out what you think is wrong with Obama when you are looking for something, look hard enough and you will find something you can use against him. The same can be said of McCain, or for that matter any of us.
Regarless of how you feel about Obama, and whether or not you think he will be a good president, he has already brought change to our great country. Change that will make it a better place to live for ALL of it's citizens, not just the white, not just the rich, not just the men.
Admittedly not all change is good, but the kind of change we are currently experiencing IS good. Do you think Marting Luther King Jr. could have forseen that 45 years after he gave that speech, that a person of African descent would be accepting the Democratic nomination for the President of the United States? He had a dream, and that dream is coming true. Even if Obama does not win the presidency, the face of American politics has changed forever.
And let's not forget about the contribution of Hillary Clinton. No matter how you might feel about her personally, if you are a woman you have to give her thanks for paving the way for a female to be President of the United States, how awesome is that? She truly did crack the glass ceiling, and in a not too distant future it WILL be completely shattered.
All the arguing aside, you can't deny that history has been made. The old way of doing things is on it's way out. "We the People" will actually start to mean something. Every voice will be heard.
I can't wait to cast my vote in November. I will be able to tell my children and grandchildren about how I was part of this history-making election. America is the most wonderful place to live, and it just keeps getting better.
God Bless America, and God Bless Barack Hussein Obama our next President!

Snow White lost her dwarfs

The seven dwarfs always left to go work in the mine early each morning.
As always, Snow White stayed home doing her domestic chores.
As lunchtime approached, she would prepare their lunch and carry it to the mine.
One day as she arrived at the mine with the lunch,
She saw that there had been a terrible cave-in.
Tearfully, and fearing the worst, Snow White began
Calling out, hoping against hope that the dwarfs had somehow survived.
'Hello!...Hello!' she shouted. 'Can anyone hear me? Hello!'
For a long while, there was no answer.
Losing hope, Snow White again shouted,
'Hello! Is anyone down there?'
Just as she was about to give up all hope,
She heard a faint voice from deep within the mine, singing . . ..
'Vote for John McCain ! - Vote for John McCain !'
Snow White fell to her knees, crossed herself and prayed,
'Oh, thank you, God! At least Dopey is still alive...
What Is Libertarianism?

A close friend and I were discussing politics yesterday. He used to be a Republican, but does not like the direction they are currently taking with McCain as the presidential nominee. And he does not like Obama's politics either. I asked him who he is going to vote for and we ended up talking about Libertianism. I had heard little about it, but from what I have read it looks exactly like what I believe, a kind of middle-of-the-road approach to politics. Of course it's too late to do anything about this election, but 2012 will get here pretty quickly.
Here is what I found about it, what do you think?
What Is Libertarianism?

Your Way to Freedom, Abundance, Peace, Justice
Libertarianism is, as the name implies, the belief in liberty. Libertarians strive for the best of all worlds - a free, peaceful, abundant world where each individual has the maximum opportunity to pursue his or her dreams and to realize his full potential.
The core idea is simply stated, but profound and far-reaching in its implications. Libertarians believe that each person owns his own life and property, and has the right to make his own choices as to how he lives his life - as long as he simply respects the same right of others to do the same.
Another way of saying this is that libertarians believe you should be free to do as you choose with your own life and property, as long as you don't harm the person and property of others.
Libertarianism is thus the combination of liberty (the freedom to live your life in any peaceful way you choose), responsibility (the prohibition against the use of force against others, except in defense), and tolerance (honoring and respecting the peaceful choices of others).
Live and let live. The Golden Rule. The non-initiation of force.
Libertarians believe that this combination of personal and economic liberty produces abundance, peace, harmony, creativity, order, and safety. Indeed, that is one of the central lessons of world history. Virtually all the progress the human race has enjoyed during the past few centuries is due to the increasing acceptance of these principles. But we are still far from a truly libertarian world. Libertarians believe we would see far more progress, abundance and happiness if the ideas of liberty were fully accepted and allowed to work their miracles.
Our goal as libertarians is to bring liberty to the world, so that these wonderful and proven ideas can be put into action. This will make our world a far better place for all people.
If this interests you, please explore the material at this site. Evaluate these ideas. Kick their tires and take them for an intellectual "test drive."
We hope you will join us in embracing this ideal -- and in taking a stand to personally help bring about a world of liberty, abundance and peace.
