I believe the Cowboys are a play off team, but again as in the past 10 years the coaching is the problem. I'm not saying the coaching is bad but the Cowboys should still be unbeaten. First of all they had the Patriots against the wall. The coaching tried to make it a battle between Romo, and Brady instead of remembering football is a team game. Romo is good, but he has to be Romo, let him play his game. He shouldn't be throwing 40 times a game with Barber, and Jones on the team. They were trying to show that Romo was as good as Brady. When they should have been trying to win the game and prove the Cowboys were better than the Patriots. The key to the game was running the ball. The Patriots had no answer for Barber / Jones. You as a coach have to look at what the Patriots were doing defensively. They were playing a majority of defensive backs to protect against the pass, that is why passing was so tough for the Cowboys. But when you put a bunch of defensive backs against trucking running backs they get punished. As was the affect Barber was having in the game, they weren't strong as linemen to get him to the ground so they had to drive him out of bounds. And when they did get to him he was punishing them. There was no way the Patriots could have played the entire game that way if the Cowboys would have continued to run it and once you had then playing the run, then play action and get Romo's passes in. They would have been a lot more effective and I guarantee that the Cowboys would have come away with a win. I am posting this blog hoping come SuperBowl maybe this blog would have been seen by someone who can make a difference and the coaches will go back and watch the tapes and see how the Patriots were being punished by the run. And the longer the Cowboys would have run it the more the defense would have been worn down then you could switch Jones in and out and let him hit some holes with his speed once they were wore down. I don't see how you could be a NFL coach and have tunnel vision and just be thinking about making a battle of the QB's. The Cowboys dropped the ball and they need to get the team aspect back and whoop the Patriots in the Superbowl, by running Barber through, and Jones past the ( lol) defensive backs of the patriots. The next thing is the defense, Ken Hamlin and Roy Williams. If they would just play there position the Cowboys would be unstoppable. They need to play the secondary and stop being worried about playing the run every play, that is why they keep getting beat. They get caught watching the QB and stepping up or backpeddliing and the receiver runs right past them. They dont' have breaking speed to take off from a backpeddle and keep up with a true receiver. They need to play the middle of the field and let the receivers catch a couple of short routes and be there to hand out some hits, and I guarantee that the receivers will get shell shocked, and that will open up for interceptions, and incompletions when they think they are going to take a big hit. If they think that they are being set up they won't want to catch the ball. Just dont let the receiver get behind you. That is the job of a safety, play your position and stop trying to be a linebacker. As long as Barber and Jones are being productive give them the ball, you have to tire out the defense, Romo will get to throw the ball, you have to switch it up, more play action is needed. Barber is becoming feared, you have to use that to your advantage by using in with rushing and playaction and that will open up routes for the receivers because defenses will have to have more than one man on Barber or he will get first down after first down. Talk to me who feels me on these points.......
