Demboy08's Blog

I took a break from blogging for a while mainly because I had alot of school work but I am coming back because of this. After reading all these blogs about how surprised all these white people are that blacks have a cynical, negative and conspiracy driven view of whites I wonder how ignorant white people are of both black culture and racial divisions which continue in this country. I do not agree with what Reverend Wright said but alot of what he said is a general view by black america. If people do not understand why they hold this view you are truly ignorant. All conspiracy theories come from somwhere. Discontent with the effects of 9/11 led to the conspiracy theories just as discontent with oppurtunities for black americans and continuing racism leads to this type of anger. Racism is still widespread in america according to recent surveys. Americans cannot act out their racism due to political correctness but it hovers just beneath the surface of our society. Maybe that is why so many blacks think they can't get jobs heck maybe their right part of the time. I do not know. I just find it silly that so many people are so surprised when a racialeconomic group that is so far down the economic ladder is so angry. What is even stupider is that people are blaming a man who is part of the group for listening to this guy. Oh well good old fashioned guilt by association we will never learn. Always letting others define us instead of being allowed to define ourselves.

Opportunities for black Americans? What opportunities do I have that they do not? Public education? Access to jobs? Political access? Where do you see blacks but having the same chance I do to get ahead? Actually it's quite the opposite!

Blacks get something I dont get! Let's start with education. Blacks get minority grants that I could never apply for because I'm white. Blacks get preferential treatment in government and other jobs. Ever heard of "Afirmative Action"? Blacks have dozens of resources devoted JUST TO THEM! If there was a TV network called WET or "White Entertainment Television", there would be protests in the streets! There are black magazines that say they are for blacks. Let a magazine claim to be for whites and you'll get more protests!
The only people separating blacks from the rest of socity, are blacks themselves and those who try to make money from that separation. IE black media and the likes of Al and Jessie.

You talk about being so far down on the ladder. Well CLIMB that ladder! Stop handcuffing yourself to the bottom rung! As I mentioned above, and it's just a small sample of assistance programs, there are many hands extended to help you up! Stop taking what the government GIVES you and go GET YOUR OWN!

You might be supprised to find my hand among the ones helping you up! But you have to reach out and take my hand and not slap it away because it's white.

When the blacks start to relize that the true problem in the black community is 72% out of wedlock biths I might start to give a damm. It's a never ending cycle of drugs, gangs and baby's daddy not around. It starts with the family.

The main problem is they somehow think they are entitled to something other than hard work, like every other American.
Why is that? Why do they think they are owed something by everyone?
I do not understand that. Great, great grandaddy was a slave, so now I don't have to work, and whitey owes me a free ride!

That is funny!

Great great grandaddy was a slave, and he was provided everything he and his family needed. They had to work for it.

Now they are filling the prisons nationwide, because everything there is given free, and you can have fun breaking as many laws as you can before you retire into the state nursing homes that are called prisons for some reason!

For many, it is a better life than they had on the streets! Why do you think they are killing each other to get in there! And once in, do NOT want to leave, and WILL commit crimes as soon as they are released, just to get back "home"?
Is it an experiment in freedom that has gone horribly wrong?

What most people do not realize, or fail to realize, is that the "blacks" have their African relatives to blame. Many of the slave traders in Africa were black. Tribal leaders would "sell out" to "whites" in order to get rid of rival tribes, or sell their own wives and children for some trinkets. They even took other people to be their slaves.

So stop blaming the US for your problmes... blame your own people!

"Oh well good old fashioned guilt by association we will never learn. Always letting others define us instead of being allowed to define ourselves."

I agree, but I find that most Black folks just like feeling sorry for themselves. How those that feel this way justify the feeling is usually quite funny and very creative. My definition of affirmative action is "get a job, and keep your lawn clear and mowed".

Fine lets start with minority grants because most blacks live in the inner city which has less money the schools they go to are atrocious. The property taxes they pay fund the schools and if they don't earn alot they can't pay the property taxes to fund the schools. A few make it through and get to colleges with the help of these minority grants but that is more the exception not the rule. These are groups not necessarily individuals and though I think people should define themselves first they have to be in an environment that allows them to do that. This is a complex problem that has its roots in the discrimination that went on for the hundred years after the civil war. We can't just say " Hey guess what you all are equal and expect everything to be okay." It is a band-aid solution to a hundred years of economic disenchantment and racism which still is quite alive in society to day under the surface. Infact a recent study shows that about 40% of both blacks and whites are racist.

Your very confused or stupid.....You should read the book "SCAM" written by the black Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson...Let him explain to you the how and why al, jesse, louis do what they do, and that it keeps them in $2000 suits and limos, and grabs lib/simpletons like yourself..

demboy... sweetie, your comment about 40% being racist... do you know why? The blacks are because "whitie" won't let me loaf on my job. The whites... those blacks think we owe them everything... they do not do their jobs.

I know this for a fact. One case, as an example... A few people where I work used the "Affirmative Action" routine to get their jobs. They were not qualified. One man used it twice... and was demoted after it was proven that he was not qualified... even being a racist against people who had been working there longer than he had... who had been turned down for the position because they were white. They filed against him and won. My own supervisor got his job because of Affirmative Action. I worked for him for 2 years as a temp. The job went up for "Permanent". 6 people applied for the position before I would even be considered for it... a job I'd done for 2 years. A black man was in the final choices. He was not qualified. He was offered the job but turned it down... he really didn't want it... just wanted to get his foot in the door... he wanted me to get the job... but was told by my supervisor that he preferred a black man... a brother. I went to my supervisor and confronted him... using Affirmative Action... stating that I was an older, Jewish, woman. I was told that AA didn't work for me. I HAD BEEN DOING THE JOB FOR 2 YEARS! I went to his boss... got the job! To this day, he still tries to hold me back, but others in the department have found many uses for my talents... which makes him mad.

Am I a racist? No. I base my judge

Look affirmitive action is definitley not the key it spits of reverse racism. I do not want to give someone something for nothing but I do think that it is far more than laziness causing any of this. It is a complex socio-economic problem that began with Jim Crow and still has not ended. I do not think you are racist but I have begun to seriously study this problem and I think that their are a number of ways to solve it. Racism is driven by ignorance and large numbers of people are racist I know that it is around 40% in both racial groups. This is by far the biggest roadblock. One of the best ways of solving this problem is to change zoning laws. Make it a requirement to build all subdivisions with budget housing intermingle the poor with the rich more. This idea has worked wonders in candad which used to have a similar problem though more with economic groups. I think it can be applied to racism. The other problem is education. We have to work to change both societes steryotypes of eachother but also push both societies not to conform to those steryotypes.

This is where better educational facilities and more access to higher learning would be extremely useful. Education is the most proven tool for getting out of poverty and it is rapidly being priced out of the middle class. The scholarships and grants available to the poor are not keeping up with the college costs going up about ten percent a year.

Demboy.... I bought a condo conversion last October... the place was great. Then the building problem hit. The owners of the property decided to go back to rentals. The crime rate has tripled. At our Xmas party the majority of the people were black. The ratio of blacks to whites has gone way up since that time! The people reporting the crimes... white! As I said... it's not a "white" complaint... it's a "black" problem... getting "back at the whites". Go to my blog about FL apologizing for Slavery and get some other insights/input.

The "higher learning" issue is a problem. Yes, it is going up. The scholarships and grants are disappearing... what a shame... especially since the FL school system is so bad... but that is another topic.

For one so young, you are so wise.

I am a Freshman at UW Madison. I believe in real solutions to real problems. I didn't see the Republicans offering any of them so I a gave the Democrats a chance to do something. I believe both parties are too polarized now to get things done so I think moderates are needed. I am a moderate liberal. I spent months deciding who to support in the presidential election but I finally have decided to vote for Senator Barrack Obama. I love studying world problems, playing tennis, playing video games and now blogging.
