I am starting this blog because people want to talk about this. The Texas police and social services have raided a Texas compound full of the fundamentalist mormons who split from the church after it banned polygamy. These people were abused and brainwashed which I am sure will lead to calls for more oversight into these types of groups. But then privacy comes in. Should these groups have the government looking over their shoulder constantly? Why did the Texas authorities not do anything before now knowing that this group split because it wanted to practice polygamy? This situation is a mess. I also wonder if this very unequal society of women serving men is a warning for our nation ever going back to something like that. How important ios equality in sexes?

Demboy,

Interesting thoughts guy! Here's something to think about: men and women have different strengths and weaknesses, which compliment each other, so the real issue is this when you ask about equality: how do men and women balance each other? Whenever one stops following God's purpose, that's when the mess unfolds and blows up in our faces.

Latinawoman: great response! I agree 100 percent with you! It's time to put the pigs into the pens!

We need to keep the checks and balances going, so that we don't get into such a serious mess. Organizations such as cults have a way of throwing things so far off balance, it isn't funny.

So what about the Child Sex Ring that Roger Mahony was running out of the L.A. Archdicese? Will the pope remove Mahony? And again....How many people in the Compound are in this country, LEGALLY? And, how many WELFARE and SOCIAL SECURITY funds were/are flowing into the Compound?

The main problem is that we do not know if god exists or what his purpose was. According to these people's relisgon god wanted them to abuse women and children and practice Polygamy. How can we tell them that they broke gods standards if in their view they were upholding them?

Pedophilia and Hitlerism is a Republican ideology!

As evidenced by President Bush meeting a known Nazi (the Pope), who is also known as the Morgan Stanley of organized pedophilia.

Who asserted the Compound was self-sufficient? And just who is THEY? Be specific. For someone who's been developing a political ideology since the age of six (6), you sure haven't progressed very much. Are you really that dumb???

When the Katrina aftermath hit, FEMA was sending checks to people who hadn't even set foot outside of Los Angeles County. Can you get your Far-Leftist idealogy around that one?

Pedophilia and OPEN BORDERS ZEALOTRY works just fine for the Catholic Church as well, huh? Just how much tax revenue does the Catholic Church rake in to continue their Anti-social and other criminal behaviors??

While now this is just a guess but I would say they made a mistake. FEMA was terribly missmanaged by this administration and it did a pretty poor job. You are asking this question that is really of little importance and pretty random. A bunch of undeserving people getting money after Katrina by FEMA has no relation to a compound that did not use money. I thought it was common knowledge but I got this information from CNN and FOX. Maybe they are not reliable but I am pretty sure they are right on this.

Why do you Libs hate on these people??? Just because their skin color is white and they look a little odd??? Racist haters!!! Persecuting, intimidating, and seperating families. No wonder they're afraid to come out. Is it any wonder HATE CRIMES are on the rise against white, peaceful, hard=working religious people?

Here's another side to this.

Homeschooling. Are they educating these kids?

In Colorado City, 33% are on welfare. They call it bleeding the beast,

They are not paying income tax, working under the table.

The leaders, like Warren and the guy who has been talking on Larry King Live from Bountiful, are millionaires.

I suggest that everyone read Secret Ceremonies by Deborah Laake. She was excommunicated by the church once once her book was published. She committed suicide in 2000. These women are very troubled.

I am a Freshman at UW Madison. I believe in real solutions to real problems. I didn't see the Republicans offering any of them so I a gave the Democrats a chance to do something. I believe both parties are too polarized now to get things done so I think moderates are needed. I am a moderate liberal. I spent months deciding who to support in the presidential election but I finally have decided to vote for Senator Barrack Obama. I love studying world problems, playing tennis, playing video games and now blogging.
