Lots of people are angry because of what Barrack Obama said about small town America. Why? Because it was "Elitest." Now maybe I am just crazy but ina  war you would want an elite soldier if you were going to have surgery you would want an Elite docter. So why would you not want an Elite politician? Oh yeah they would be "above" the common man. That is bad right because no president should be above the common man. Wait a minute haven't we carved these guys heads into a mountain if that does not say elite then I do not know what does.

This is the stupidest BS I have heard in a long time. If you actually get close to running for president you are most definitley an elite because it costs a heck of alot to run. Rather then having two presidents who pretend to not be elites like Bush 1 and 2 (both went to Harvard) wouldn't you rather have a president that would honestly tell you   that they were from the upper social crust of society as they all are rather then pretending no to be? The other oint is that the Clintons and McCains are both reputable families that are definitley elite while interestingly enough Obama does not fit the criterea of an elite as he would have to come from six generations of wealth. He4 definitley does not. So why doesn't everyone stop complaining about a presidential candidate that acts elite and is and more about a presidential candidate that does not act elite and is elite?

glad you finally admit your crazy..so you would want only the best in any job or situation? then why do you support affirmative action? like every other liberal everything you say makes no sense ..most all politicians are elitist what Obama said is thet middle America are idiots who cant think for themselves insulting and looking down his nose at them..this guy is being exposed more and more as the BS artist he is..its also why he now trails McCain in the polls for the first time ..expect more of that..in the last debate he came across as someone who has a lot of skeletons hes gonna have to answer for..and that was from his own party never mind what the republicans are gonna do to him...don't be surprised if Clinton gets the nomination as the republicans are chomping at the bit to go after Mr. dream-weaver

Lawyer Glenn Greenwald:

"...As always, they justify their vapid gossip by patronizingly claiming that it's what the little people are interested in -- all grounded in their condescending fantasies about the political assessments of the salt-of-the-earth simpletons who comprise the voting masses -- but this sort of childish, barren yapping is, in reality, representative of nothing other than how our empty Beltway media thinks.

That has been the dominant media theme for the last two decades in our political discourse, and particularly in our national elections. Leave policy and ideology to the side. Just ignore it. What matters is that Democrats and liberals are weak, effete, elitist, nerdy, military-hating, gender-confused losers, whose men are effeminate, whose women are emasculating BLEEP, and who merit sneering mockery and derision. Republican right-wing male leaders are salt-of-the-earth, wholesome, likable tough guys -- courageous warriors and normal family men who merit personal admiration and affection.

The Republican Party pioneered by Lee Atwater, Roger Ailes, and Karl Rove will redeploy these same personality-based themes in the 2008 election because it is all they know and, more important, because nothing has yet ended the efficacy of such deceitful strategies. A shallow and gossipy press continues to eat it up.

Keep the homosexual stuff in the closet where it belongs. Americans don't care, as long as homosexuals leave it in the closet where it belongs...

Go Demboy, it's your birthday!... Bill Maher should have you on as a guest. Start your own blog site and then tell us. Use your youth while you got it.

And most of all don't be afraid to put a picture and a name to your words.

I can see the Demboy HBO special.

I am a Freshman at UW Madison. I believe in real solutions to real problems. I didn't see the Republicans offering any of them so I a gave the Democrats a chance to do something. I believe both parties are too polarized now to get things done so I think moderates are needed. I am a moderate liberal. I spent months deciding who to support in the presidential election but I finally have decided to vote for Senator Barrack Obama. I love studying world problems, playing tennis, playing video games and now blogging.
