I surely agree with number four !

I worked in the tire business for years, and did my own test on over & under inflated tires.

It is almost impossible to change the footprint of a radial tire by overinflation. However, people should not go beyond the max. inflation pressure in their service manual, as tires expand with the heat, and too much is not good.

Underinflation does make a big difference in gas mileage ; so pump 'em up !

Check your tires again ..... no it doesn't change the foot print but gives it less rolling resistance.A dirty air filter chokes your engine down.

You're sure right on the r.r. "rolling resistance", A-bomb !

Ever see the cars that run the mileage test ? They used bald tires and air them to 150 to 200 psi, to increase the r.r. !
I wouldn't want to even touch one of those tires after inflating it that far ! LOL

I agree, you can't change your air filter too often, in my opinion !

Stop moaning about gas prices. They're still the cheapest in the country. If you don't like it get the bus or a cycle to work..

Regarding inflation. Over/under inflated tires wear quicker than properly inflated tires. You will have to drive a WHOLE BUNCH of miles to pay for a new set of tires. The reduction in RR is just not worth it. There is one benifit from over inflation, you just might save enough money to pay for one of the new valve stems you get when you have to replace your tires.

Wow! That sucks! I guess I will just purchase a bicycle and go to work that way. I wonder when the prices are going to go back down... if ever.
