How many people are paid to “guess”?

So...what's the deal?

All the rain in the forecast....has decided to make us wait a bit. It will be arriving in two batches. One this morning through midday, and the second overnight. The first batch is on the warm side of the storm, so there may be a few severe storms. After temps plummet this afternoon into the 50s, we'll get the colder side tonight. As the upper level low pressure area moves overhead....cold and heavy rain may occur as temps drop into the 40s.

This will all exit by Wednesday afternoon and sunny, dry, and seasonably mild weather will return by Thursday. So all you Spring Breakers will get a chance to get outdoors later this week!

How far in advance can you forcast weather? My thinking is a week. I'm I right on saying... typing that? I am just wondering about a specific date and am axious to know. Its 6/7/08. That's my wedding date. Do you know or its not going to be possible? Whatever the fact Evan, you are a great meteorologist and I trust what you have to "forecast"! Hope to hear from you soon, brother!

A week? Maybe. 5 days is decent. 7 is fair. We get models dor 10 days out...but it's usually useless. Heck, sometimes we screw up even ONE day!! LOL
You may email me a week or so before, and I can give you a good indication! Good Luck!

Terrellmom...we usually book a few months in advance for schools, since there are a zillion of them and only 4 of us! If you grab me before school starts, I can guarantee you an early date next fall. I speak to kids in grades 2 through 6, usually one grade...75-150 kids. Thanks!

I’m the guy who gets up at 3am to get the forecast on the air each morning on GOOD DAY! Other than being constantly sleep deprived and taking afternoon naps, there is life after TV! I spend most of my free time with my wife and best friend, Lori. She is an amazing woman who keeps me sane and gives me a dose of reality if I need it. She has stuck by me and my lousy hours for over 5 years and counting! During the school year I visit elementary school kids and teach them a few interesting tidbits about the weather. It makes me appreciate the teachers in our country. I spend the rest of my time trying to stay fit, cooking and trading stocks! I grew up with a father who is a CPA so I learned about the world of business and markets. I don’t like the term “day trader” but I am an active market “timer”. So I can tell you tomorrow’s weather forecast OR forecast for the trend in oil or the NASDAQ! I have a "teenager" and two "tweenagers" in our blended family. They help keep me "young". Well, at least they educate me on what it's like to be young!
