As promised, here is the first part of the John Edwards stump video. Going to this event is something I'm not likely to forget soon. We pulled into the small, and I do mean small, town of Creston, Iowa at 1:58 am. From there, we went into a stranger's house who was kind enough to let other Iowans and about 80 members of the world media tramp their way through her living room. Fallon got to ask the host, Jan Knock, a few questions about having a stump event. You can see them below.
The crowd that gathered to hear Edwards speak consisted primary of blue collar, working class people either over the age of thirty or under the age of 18 and obviously dragged there by a parent. I was shocked that no one else near my age was present. If I had to guess why, I would say that Edwards focuses too much on the phrases working class and labor. (You can see what I'm talking about in his speech below.) Since my generation is still in school and not the work force, it is hard to connect with him.
