When you think you've learned your way around Iowa.... guess again! After we made an effort to drive to a high school outside of Des Moines to see Obama, we had to turn around after getting lost and running low on gas.

However, one Fox U's team loss equals another campaign hidden treasure.  We ended up getting in touch with McCain campaign headquarters, and since it was only a 15-minute drive we opted to visit.

When we arrived at headquarters we spoke with some of the volunteers, the volunteers were all ages; some were the same age as us!  We spoke to one Drake University student, Lynn McRoberts, who is a longtime supporter of McCain and has met him in person.  She was busy helping people find rides to the rally at headquarters tonight and assisting people with hotel accommodations and directions.

We learned McCain will be at headquarters tonight and everyone encouraged us to come back.  We asked if we will have a shot at a question or too and we got good feedback.  We plan to stop back by headquarters and attempt to get statements from McCain.  We are hoping that after his success with the MTV debates he will want to talk to more young voters!

Right now we Jia, Rachael and I are uploading video from headquarters while Ben puts together the Edwards video from last night.  Links are coming soon!

Fallon: I don't like your title, when you say "bombed" it gives an impression that somehow Obama didn't do good or failed in some respect...How about you re-title it and say, "We Uppity chics from SMU could not follow direction and failed to reach where Obama was speaking!"
McCain is an oldie, liberal in hiding. Concentrate on more contemporary candidates like Obama. Next time around, get a better direction, will ya??

Gurkha, behave yourself. If you can't refrain from making snotty remarks, you'll get blocked again. and again.

Fallon, you may of heard of a fellow named Murrow in your Media 101 class.... he as well as many of the foundational authors of news reporting... spoke of the responsiblity of reporters to remain neutral in collecting and reporting stories. Gurka was right, your headlines are worded to lead readers in a direction that -in reality- you do not even cover...

objectivity ... is a word you should strive to keep when practicing your craft before going into the real world. Just because your crew got lost, does not constitute a Bomb for anyone- but you.

Careful how your do your job... your chosen profession is not a talent contest... even though is must seem like it sometimes. News Reporting carries with it great responsibilities to remain objective, report facts, and help viewers obtain the most objective picture by your report...

you cannot say this is the case with this story, especially the headline.... can you?

aliceK... what kind of objectivity do you practice?

..perhaps you are trying to nip him in the bud... but it sounds like pretty strict censorship... his point is right.

What you might want to do is not feature this entry from SMU Fallon as it obviously is improper and misleading.

Who monitors you?

Fallon, you did an excellent job - through your headline title you incited the readers to actually read your post. Good job and great example in using buzz words to engage the readers.

Be careful everybody. If Fallon doesn't like what you post about her or her vids, she'll be a big baby and delete them.

Way professional!!!

She seems contemporary.

Since I have this chance, why not send your political professor my way SMU_Fallon? I have a thread just for him.

danielb, you must work in advertising.

FYI the reason we looked is cuz its featured...

the fact that upon looking the title doesn't make sense or is obviously misleading.... is why we write.

The reason you give in you statement is why 40% of Americans STILL think saddham's iraq had any connection to 9/11.

naw, just trying to keep Fallon's eye on the prize... I dont think she needs encouragement to use silly advertising tactics to do her job...

it is reporting that she's doing isn't it? This isn't another reality show in the making is it? I think we need to keep clear the distinction between news reporting and entertainment... don't you?

I hope the whole SMU team learns as much as they help us learn about the race... I'm not interested in what some students "feel" about things... that's what polls are for... I just want fair and balanced reporting. Tell the story, don't editorialize... right?

Colby: Thanks for agreeing. At times, when making a pt., I come out little strong but that's what blogging is about...I don't want to get blocked again. This will be the 6th time, if it happens. Me and AliceK have love/hate relationship...more of the fact that she just hates me.

Huckabee, romney, mccain are all members of the CFR.

So are Obama (cheney's cousin), edwards, and Hillary.

CFR is dedicated to setting up a 1 world government.

Just look on wikipedia, CFR has been around since 1921 but the media says its a RON PAUL conspiracy. They tell you that so you dont research it cuz if you did you would see.

The banking cartels own our country and nobody seems to notice or seems to care.

HILLARY attended the BILDERBURG group in 2006 which is a VIOLATION of the LOGAN ACT, a felony for USA politians to meets with foreign power brokers in secret due to the corruption and esponiage it breeds, but nobody seems to notice or care.

So who is this Fox U team ?

Do they actually exist or are they just propaganda?

None of them are responding in their own blogs.

They all seemed to of created their accounts today and get their blogs "featured" when FOX censors mine.

I bet Fox U team doesnt really exist.

Time to research if they do or if they dont.

You're RIGHT, Enema_Combatant! The Fox U team are really a cadre of REPTILIANS intent upon beaming gamma rays into your brain!

They MUST exist. Fallon at least. Who ELSE would be deleting all my comments.

Apparently she doesn't handle constructive criticism very well. She's trying to kill the messenger.

I do exist, I just don't fight fire with fire. I'm not here to argue with anyone. I'm just here to provide a college student's look into the Iowa caucus.

I hope you're a conservative. The last thing we need are more liberals in the media intent upon "changing people's opinions" instead of reporting the news.

I am a FOX U News student reporter, and I am a senior at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. I am originally from Lafayette, LA. Upon graduation, I plan on pursuing a career in reporting. This January Fox is sending me to the Iowa Caucus, where I hope to get my political groove on while seeing what goes on behind the scenes.
