Ok - I thought (or should I say hoped) that I wouldn't be using this blog much anymore.

But, alas, here I am.

I have posted 2 blogs as Infectious_Sense - and neither one of them are showing up.  It is as if they vanished.

Also - the "missing comment" thing is happening again - where it says there are 3 comments but only 2 are showing (for example).

And, yesterday, there was a post that you couldn't get to. You clicked on the title, and it just took you to the person's entire blog - NOT the post that you were trying to comment on.  I don't know what all that was about - but I am sure it isn't an isolated incident.

The email thing is a mess - I get an email-vomit of 60+ emails at once - some for blogs that were done days ago, comments left days ago, etc. that I had already received emails on.  It is very random - and very strange.

Just wanted to keep you abreast of issues - since I am sure it was from the whole hacker ordeal.  Anyone else - feel free to post issues you may be having.

The comments in random blogs are not showing up.  The number of comments on the front page is correct - but when you go to read the comments, they aren't there.  For example - it will say 9 comments, there are only 3  when you go to read them.

Even the email notifications that a comment has been posted....  The email will say "Infectious_Sense has made a comment".  But - you click it, and there is no comment showing up.

To see the comments - you have to make a comment, then the "invisible" ones will appear.

It is funny....  I have seen "...." as comments, "comment" as comments, and some comments explaining out that they can't see comments.  All are people trying to get the invisible ones to show up.  And - it is so random.

I must say - I don't know which is more annoying - the invisible comments, or the page loading.  It seems that when you go to a blog - even your own blog...  the page will load, pause for 3 - 5 seconds, blink, then load again.

I completely don't understand that one.  After a while of that, I get an error that shuts down my browser...  I am sure it is from all the self-reloading of multiple cookies or code or something.

Anyone else have any other problems? (as if these weren't enough)

Anyone from Fox know if these are being worked on?

I have heard several mention it - so I will leave this as a space to address the issue that maybe Fox is unaware of.

The comments on a blog are having some freakish behavior.  Sometimes they show up, sometimes they don't.  Some blogs will say they have 10 comments, but only 2 will show up.

And - after checking the box that says, "Email me when a comment is made to this blog", when you get an email saying a comment has been made, click the link to read the comment - it is not there in the blog.  Or - it is there, but some can see it, some can't.  Everytime you hit "refresh", the number of comments goes up, but you still only see 2 or 3 comments.

Then, there is the infamous "double comment" thing....  Sometimes you click the "submit" button after you type a comment, nothing happens, so you click it again, and your comment is there twice - even though you can't see it.

Feel free to address other freakish issues here....  Maybe we can get them fixed.

Ok. I have emailed, and we have all blogged about it - and I (for one) am not getting any responses.

So - maybe this will help......

This is the error I get on the main blog page:
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

This is the error I get when I go to my (or anyone's specific blog):
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I decided to open up my "For-Alfred" blog again till we get these updates / issues resolved, since it did seem to help when we were posting issues here before.... Fox4 seemed to jump on them pretty quick.

Feel free to post any errors you are having here, and I will forward them to Alfred. Maybe we can get this mess fixed....

Well - Alfred is QUICK with his reply! Here it is!

Remember to post issues not on this or the previous list....

***************************
Thanks for your e-mail. I am going to forward it on to our Fox Interactive Media development team.

Here are my thoughts on them, however:

1. This is new to me. I’ll see what the FIM team says.

2. All of the FOX stations and the executives at the stations have been pushing for more categories. I think it’s safe to say that more categories will be coming, but I can’t say when. We’re planning to tweak the site’s design this spring, so it may happen then. I assure you, however, that everyone wants more categories to blog under.

3. This avatar issue happened to me this week. I’m notifying our developers to take a look at it.

4. I’ll pass this one on as well; since I was not aware of this.

Again, thanks for your interest in myFOXdfw.com.

To see what the numbers relate to, see the previous post.

Thank YOU, Alfred!!!!

Ok. This is a copy of the latest issues sent to our good buddy Alfred:

******************************************************<
br> Here is the most recent list of issues. As you can see, it is smaller than the last one, so Fox4 has done an excellent job making progress. Several have mentioned a spell-checker of somekind, but I am sure that would be very difficult to incorporate. However I wanted to mention it. Here is a list of the most recent concerns/issues:

1. When a post gets past 1 page and you add a comment, it redirects you back to page one, rather than the END of the blog where your comment is. To check it, you have to then manually go to the last page.

2. A "Politics" category would be very helpful. Or a "Miscelaneous" category. The news category is VERY bogged down with political debate. Even if only during "election" time, a Politics section might ease the burden of trudging through hundreds of politics posts for the few actual news posts.

3. Several have had issues getting an avatar to load. The main problem occurs when clicking the upload button. Some get this message, "Your image cannot be exported because part of the box is outside the image." This is not true. And, it occurs even when using a photo which is larger than the red box and the red box is centered on the photo. If the photo is smaller than the Avatar space, is there a way to make the photo fit the space?

4. Some of us are not being notified of comments or new posts on a blog that we have subscribed to. It is random, but it is noticeable. I believe it is happening more with more blogs being posted.
*****************************************************r>
I will post the response that I get. Please post any that are not on this list, or the previous list, and I will email them in about a week. See how good we are doing! It is getting better!!!

WOOOO HOOOOO!!!

I received this email today (the numbers are in regard to my last blog):

Thanks for starting your blog. I and the other Web producers are reading it.

1. I learned today while speaking with other Web producers across the FOX network that this problem is occurring with other users as well. The Fox Interactive Media team is investigating. Hopefully, we should know something soon. If you can take a screen grab of the error message before the window closes (I know this might be difficult) that will help us.

5. We have been asking our FIM developers for this feature for a while, and hope to introduce it over the next several weeks.

For issues 2-4, this is the first I’ve heard of those. Let me do some research and I’ll get back to you.

Thanks for your input.

Alfred

The following suggestions/complaints have been forwarded:

1. My window keeps freezing then I get an error message then my window closes. It only happens on this site.

2. Do you ever try to click the "Log Out" button or click the "Done" button and get the reply: "Whoops! We Do not know where you are trying to go. Please try again later."

3. When updates were made and that horrid refresh reared it's ugly head, another problem started with the browsers. When one finishes reading a blog and wants to back out (Using the back arrow) the perp gets kicked out of cyber space all together, thus causing the perp to reload explorer.

4. What’s the character limit for comments? Is there any way to get a character counter for the comments, or to preview your comment before you leave it? MANY of us have our comments "cut-off" because we didn't know how much we could type. Or - make the size of the comment box equivalent to the amount of characters allowed.

5. What about putting the next page buttons at the bottom of the "see all ____ blogs" link? When you click that link to see all the newly posted blogs, and you scroll down the page there are no buttons to continue on to the next page of blogs. You have to scroll BACK to the top of the page to go to the next page. Yet, on individual blogs, the page numbers are on the top and bottom of the blog. This feature should be integrated to the main pages as well.

I will let you know when I hear a response. If there is something you come across or think of that is NOT listed here, you can posted it here, and I will forward it. I will probably do this once a week or so until everything gets addressed.

Ok. I am not hiding my identity (This is Infectious_Sense) - just trying to make it easier for us if there problems if there are any future updates. Here is the email I received from Alfred Charles:

**********************

Based on a number of comments from you and other users, we have increased the time between refreshes on our Community page. Hopefully, you will not experience similar problems going forward. We appreciate your feedback and ask that you continue to tell us what you don’t – and do – like about our new Website.

Thanks again for your interest in myFOXdfw.com.

Alfred R. Charles

Sr. Web Producer

Well, I don't want the responsibility, or to feel responsible if something comes up later. And, since Alfred's email isn't on the site anywhere, I figured I could make a spot for us to post stuff for him as it comes up, and he could find it easily, we could access it easily.... See???

I am tryin' to help..... Just hope I don't get in trouble.....

Anyway - if you notice any issues - post them here. If you want to make it easier to find, you can add this to your favorites. I will forward them to the email I got.

For-Alfred

This is Infectious_Sense. I am not trying to hide my identity, I am simply trying to make it easier to report problems with the Fox4 Blog site - should they arise. We all had the whole refresh issue, which was fixed - but we really had no where to go for it! Well.... that is the purpose of this blog. There will be an open thread, all the time. I will forward problems, suggestions, etc. to Alfred Charles who is the senior web producer. This way, you can add it to your favorites, and can leave stuff here easily. I didn't know if I could post his email, since it is not on the site anywhere - I didn't want to "violate" anything.
