Political party judges?

What I really want to know is why do County Judges run under a political party banner?
Shouldn’t a judge be impartial, but yet by running under a party banner you are contradicting that impartiality.

This could lead people to think that if they are of an opposing political party of that judge they might not get a fair shake in that judges court.
