Beat those Dallas Land Theves!!!   I don't see how anyone can even be a Cowboy fan, after Jones has shown his support of land theft, drugs (by inducting cry baby Irvan in to the ring of honor), hypocrisy with the induction of Smith, after sitting out for more money in the mid 90's I watched an interview the next year where Smith said, "I want people to remember me as a player who played for the love of the game."  This just one year after sitting out 5 games for more money!  It would serve the entire orginization right if they never had a superbowl bid again!  I understand Jones' will now use "Tank" to get a touchdown whenever he wants, just by having "Tank" come up behind a ref and say "stick'em up"!

GoHomeJones, Arlington doesn't want you!

Good luck on that, Clinton Portis supprorts M Vick and his dog fighting, and Gibbs is washed up.

E Smith earned his pay as you can see by the record books.

it ain't theft if it's paid for, land sold and bought is land legally obtained , you must have forgot the citizens of arlington voted FOR the stadium

BTW , since you live in arlington , what's the story on the citizens voting for a stadium yet against a tax increase to pay for more police , guess you all got your priorities

no, I voted no to both the stadium and the "crime tax". Why, I know that it is theft when you force someone to sell you property they were not willing to sell as were many that had their land taken from them. As for legally, yes we have this law being abused called eminent domain, which land is taken for public use. Here's a law libray interpretation of public use: "Ordinarily, a government can exercise eminent domain only if its taking will be for a "public use" - which may be expansively defined along the lines of public "safety, health, interest, or convenience". Perhaps the most common example of a "public use" is the taking of land to build or expand a public road or highway. Public use could also include the taking of land to build a school or municipal building, for a public park, or to redevelop a "blighted" property or neighborhood." Don't see football field in there anywhere especially a football field that WILL NOT be open to the public, now how is that for public use? It's main purpose was for private use by Jerry "the crook" Jones. So "Mayor Mc" Cluck and Jones lied to the citizens of Arlington to edge out 51% of the vote. Had cluck and jones been forced then to tell the truth I doubt they would have had the 51%, that's why the only way the deal would go through was if the vote was on that November's ballot so that there would not be time for the truth to be discovered. Let's take a quick look at the word ownership defined as 1. the relation of an owner to the thing possessed; possession with the right to transfer possession to others
2. the act of

continued...
2. the act of having and controlling property [syn: possession]
3. the state or fact of being an owner
I think the key word in the first meaning is the "right" to transfer nowhere does it state it's an obligation. Therefore Arlington owes a lot of Ad Valorem taxes back to those who thought they owned land. As for the crime bill, I belive it was something that was going to generate 59 million in the first 12 months to pay for 42 additional officers. Well, how much are we paying our officers? The "mayor" had other hidden uses for that surplus he was not disclosing to the public and I think people have finally realized what a crock McCluck is. So no the land was not obtained legally!

Well the Cowboys did it again. They're 9-1 now. Thanks to Terry Owens four TD's. And Troy Romo with his skill working under pressure. it goes to show you with the right ingredients to the mix you have the makings of a great team as the Cowboys.

I wonder how their going to handle all that traffic there? Lets see. There is Six Flags, Cowboys new Stadium, and the Texas Ranger's ball park. All that traffic it will look like rush. I guess the city of Arlington will managed to be able to handle it all.

yes, you are correct hillsbroohillbilly, I guess the American way is stealing since the time of the American Indian as you mentioned. I never said they didn't vote for it, I know they did, we were lied to by cluck and jones, but sorry, I was still raised with morals and stealing is stealing and voting for it doesn't make it right.

texan2007, "great" team, something the cowboys will never be as long as jones owns them, they may have a great record but the team will never be as great or have as much class as they did before jones.

Seems like Jones owned them when Aikman,Smith and Irvin was there.

If that was not a great team then they need to disband the National Football League.

Hillsboro hillbilly, my Arlington property taxes were the same this year as they were last year. Jerry Jones memorial is being built with a sales tax hike that still leaves us with a lower sales tax than Dallas, and by gouging the hotel and rental car users.
Personally I could care less about the stadium, but I am excited for improvements to I-30 and the streets in the North end of town.

GohomeJones...while you have your law library handy look up "precident"...the land for the loveable loser Rangers was grabbed in the same manner as the land for the Cowboys. I'm not saying it was right... but when it was OK to do it once, why did you think the result would be different the second time?

If you own property in Arlington, or are a fan of NFL football and live in the DFW, the Cowboys playing well is great! I am excited that the superbowl is coming here and look forward to paying more property tax on my home because of some long awaited appreciation.

I'm glad you hope to benefit from the theft of peoples land. Guess that's what Arlington is all about, support whatever will benefit me, regardless if it's wrong or not, that's pretty much mc cluck's attitude also. I myself am only looking forward to getting an offer on my house so I can get out of Arlington, hopefully before the superbowl gets here and the city goes bankrupt.

I live in Arlington; do all my taxable shopping outside Arlington so my money doesn’t go to Jones. My lifelong dream is to see Jones pack his bags and go back to Arkansas, and as a bonus he'd take "Mayor Mc" Cluck with him though they'd probably kick'em both out of the state. I grew up a Cowboys fan but seeing Jones' willingness to sacrifice the class the organization once had do anything to win along with his ability to steal land just because he has more money has caused me to love to watch'em loose! May they never win another superbowl! ABC-Anyone But the Cowboys!
