I see by the commercials it's time for my tax money to pay cops overtime to sit around and find those dangerous seatbelt "violators"!  I hope we aren’t dumb enough to believe the misleading stats the government feeds us to make us believe the seatbelt law is for any other reason than to raise money.  I noticed from the crying about the less red light runners that nothing the government does is for my safety but rather a calculated gamble that there will be violations to any law, which produces tickets which produces fines and thus income.  Too bad they don't put as much money and effort into catching real criminals, oh yeah I forgot when you take a burglar to jail, you don't get any fines from him, and therefore they'd rather spend efforts on ticket producing "crime".  You'd actually have to dig in and do the research and read the numbers correctly, not the way the government "counts", to realize the seatbelt law is nothing but another baby step to control and parent the public and produces little if any additional safety.  I can smoke myself into a comma knowing that smoking IS a cause of lung cancer, but I can't ride in MY car without a seatbelt which is only good IF I'm in an accident and then it's does very little good, as we all know, if it's your time, you will go seatbelt or not.  Even Luke 12 tells us, "25Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? 26Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?"  Certainly the Bible is not speaking about seatbelts; however it's very clearly stating that we cannot add a single hour to our life!

While it is true that you do not have the power to add an hour to your life, you do have the power to subtract an hour from your life. If you wear your seat belt, you may not be adding an hour to your life, but there is a good chance that you will not be subtracting an hour from your life.

I'm glad that you feel that way so let's look at some other subtraction possibilities. I've heard of skydivers who have had equipment failures, so we should make skydiving illegal, I've seen stories of swimmers who drown, so let's outlaw swimming, and boating that too is a dangerous activity, I could go on, but I'll finish up with drivers who are involved in accidents with a seatbelt and do not live, so thus driving all together should be illegal. I would like to thank all of those misguided people who believe I must wear my seatbelt for forcing their opinions on me, if you are going to parent me, please don't forget the financial obligation of parenting as well! Will you be sending a check or direct deposit?

I believe that skydivers wear an emergency parachute in the event their primary parachute does not open. The second parachute could be considered the equivalent of a car's seat belt. Although wearing the second parachute may not add an hour to the skydiver's life, it could prevent an hour from being subtracted from the skydiver's life.

Swimming and boating can be a dangerous activity if the participants choose to ignore the rules of safety. Although following the rules of safety may not add an hour to the participants' life, they could prevent an hour from being subtracted from the participants' life.

It is true that car occupants, who are wearing a seat belt, are sometimes killed in traffic accidents. But the number of people who are not killed greatly exceeds the number of people who are killed. Again, wearing a seat belt may not add an hour to your life, but there is a very good chance that it will not subtract an hour from your life.

Also, if you wear your seat belt, you may not be adding money to your bank account, but neither will you be subtracting money from your account.

Have a good day.

I live in Arlington; do all my taxable shopping outside Arlington so my money doesn’t go to Jones. My lifelong dream is to see Jones pack his bags and go back to Arkansas, and as a bonus he'd take "Mayor Mc" Cluck with him though they'd probably kick'em both out of the state. I grew up a Cowboys fan but seeing Jones' willingness to sacrifice the class the organization once had do anything to win along with his ability to steal land just because he has more money has caused me to love to watch'em loose! May they never win another superbowl! ABC-Anyone But the Cowboys!
