Pitter-patter, pitter-patter come the feet down the hall and three sets of big eyes inform me that it's "fundering" outside!

When I was talking to my dad this evening he told me I used to say the exact same thing.

What are some things you do to comfort your little ones when the Funder comes?

The only little one I have to comfort is Angel. If it gets real noisy she gets all snuggly.

LOL 2 cute! My monster was okay until lightning struck something nearby. He came running in my room to inform me: "That was C-L-O-S-E."

Like spelling it made it more dramatic or something! LOL

The critters were glued to me from the 1st distant rumble of "funder". It's hard to get any sleep with a 30lb snoring weiner dog & a cat that can never get close enough to her 'momma'.

I'll need a nap later, that's fer sure!

I used to tell my daughter that God was having a big party up in heaven and that the thunder we were hearing was people clapping and the lightening was the flash on a camera. She loved it and it calmed her down.

What a great visual! I'll have to remember that for when I have grandchildren.

Wow! What a flash back. I used to say that too! I could never say my "TH's". What's funny is that my mother would never let me say "thank you" when I was a child because it always came out as "FU". How's that for a laugh.

Thanks for the flash back!

I could never say my "N's" either. For me it was "funder and lightling". Haha!

LOL Mach! This sounds like my daughters!! Instead of drawing they say drawling! I love these things and never correct them because it's so darn cute.

This morning one of my girls told us that it was getting very close to being "Fanksgiving".

My youngest is very afraid of thunderstorms. I tell her to count between the lightning & the thunder. That will tell her how far away the thunder is. I also tell her that inside the house, we are safe. Then I explain how good the rain is for everything.

That's sweet June. I remember my parents having me count between lightening and thunder and that always helped me too.
