Making Room for Baby

The countdown is on to the arrival of our little girl. After tonight - I am on Maternity Leave. I will be back after the Baby - but for now it's time to finish the nursery and as Steve Eagar told me "Enjoy thoughts of rest!" I promise to post pictures and keep you up to date. Meantime, Megan Henderson will fill in for me at night, while Natalie Solis picks up Megan's "Good Day" shift! Thanks everyone for supporting me through this amazing time. See you soon!

You may be out of sight, but you won't be out of mind. Savor every single moment. It seems like it all happens, so fast, and the next thing you know they are grown and gone. You and the baby are in our prayers. God bless and keep you, til we see you again! We will miss your sweet smile. I am so glad "TV big wigs" allow women to share in their workers joy! Makes the community come together in an unusual way. Thanks for sharing, as there aren't any babies in my house anymore. Have fun.

Congradulations and best wishes. Enjoy your time off and your family. I am really going to miss you are so pleasant to listen to. Not looking forward to listening to Meagan You are just such a special person. You don't try to be anything other than the precious person than you are. Believe me Heather,,men don't know what we go through,,but after you see that bundle of joy you know it was worth it. I am so anxious to see her. You definitely will be missed. But Megan is so cool.

well girl! its time to just lay around and eat! enjoy these last few weeks, sleep alot, get some exercise, clear out your tivo, and get ready for all the gifts. remember, get a good pedicure & wax job, make sure you have an epidural & makeup, you'll look fabulous & not sweat during the pushing! love ya, tanya

I anchor the 6 and 9 p.m. news – along with my dear friend and "work husband" Steve Eagar. Together we have won Edward R. Murrow, AP, and Katie Awards (Thanks for carrying me, Steve!). And I won an Emmy for Best Anchor. But now I have a new role - Mommy! Jeff and I have two little girls - Emmy (Jeff said I have an Emmy - so he wants one, too!) and Lily Rae. The girls are 14 months apart so we definitely have our hands full! But it's wonderful!! I also want to tell you about my volunteer work - speaking to groups about suicide awareness. I lost my former fiance’ to suicide and recently published a book called "Surviving Suicide." You can find out more about that at www.heatherhays.com.
