It is time to show support for our country, the United States of America, a stand for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness…

In this I suggest we be counted as for a Presidential Candidate committed to the Constitution of these United States; my first choice was Dr. Ron Paul who is no longer in the race though pushing a Campaign for Liberty at http://www.campaignforliberty.com.  Now I petition you to look at Bob Barr, of the Libertarian Party; Alan Keys of the Independent Party; and Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party.

Why a third party?  Because the professional politicians in the two major parties need to hear us, the voter and the tax payer, when we say, “No More!”  No more extension of federal powers where the Founding Fathers sought to restrain government.  No more taxes, no more influence in education, no more meddling with free market trade and no more socialist programs.

Are third parties candidates viable?  Who knows?  The media and the pollsters rarely even mention these optionsWhat would happen to the 17-20% “Undecided” these polls represent if there were inclusion of third parties? What would happen to fringe folks in either of the major parties if they thought there was a choice?

Do you find Liberty in an “either or” election?

Who is constraining you?

What will you do about it?

I voted for an independent for governor and the one I didn't want got put back in. Just not enough people to vote independent to make it count (yet). I still have hope. As far as for president, it isn't going to work until the electoral college is gone or changed and it is by popuular vote and you can guarantee Congress isn't going to vote something in that reduces their chances of winning.

In America today it's pointless to vote third party. In any case not one of the guys you just mentioned has the snap to be President though I like Allan a lot. But even he doesn't have what it takes to get Democrats or Republicans off of dead center. We are forced to vote for the lesser of two evils and unfortunatly almost half of the country is brain dead and won't settle for the lesser.

If you want your vote to count and care that God doesn't strike you dead you'll vote for McCain. Sorry, that's just the way it is.

I know, at first look, the electoral college seems unfair but do you know the reason it exists? The founding fathers had enough forsight to see a that growing population centers, such as cities, with particular agendas might control election results while areas with with lesser population, rural, with different agendas might constantly be outvoted. For instance the east and west coasts have most of the population and, as it turns out, mostly vote with the same party. The is true about most large cities, as well. Without a method to equalize the outcome, the large population areas would always prevail, thereby alienating the rural population. This is why the electoral college was written into our election process. To make sure the states with lesser populations count, in proportion, as much as the states with greater populations. Pure "majority rules" voting works in a classroom, but in a national election, you can see why you wouldn't want one side to always win.

To answer your question, no I don't think an 'either or' election provides us with true liberty...unfortunately, it's the best we have. It's also been the case with ALL the elections since 2000.
Until people open their eyes and grow a pair of you know whats and dare to vote 'outside the box', we have what we have.
And what we have is elections becoming just as corrupt as Mexico, and the other countries south of our border if we continue on the path we're traveling.

Making a statement in today’s elections is a sure way to get the person you want least as president. I had practiced that technique for most of my 55 years of life only to find myself looking ignorant to the repercussions. Sorry, now I vote for the least threatening candidate, as we will never have a truly good choice!

I am in agreement with Wad. If you want to be honest instead of hopeful, you will agree too. We all know the third party candidate is a spoiler.

AND THO' I AM NOT A C O N SPIRACY THEORIST, I do believe that the two candidates that have been put in place are the ones we need to decide between.

I am also intrigued by the fact that none of the third party people can be seen until about this time every four years.
