Well, we are finally off to Hollywood on American Idol. I have have to admit, before joining the FOX team in June I didn't pay much attention to the show. But it's hard not to when you work here on Idol night.

Tonight I'll be curious to see how the DFW natives do on the show. How many people actually go to Hollywood? Does anyone know?

I'm particularly intersted in the Krum contestant Baylie Brown and the Waxahachie contestant Jimmy McNeal. You can watch videos about at myFOXdfw.com's Idol Insider page. What do you think about them?

WHY oh why do people not hear when they are out of tune? I cannot sing (trust me) but I can hear when notes aren't where they're supposed to be.
Is it a brain thing? Someone needs to do a study. Any neurologists out there?

OK Idol fans... what is up with that Joan Collins look alike guest judging Idol tonight. I keep expecting her to toss a martini in the contestant's face when it's a "no".

Yes, I know it's not REALLY Joan Collins... but hey I guess they'll do whatever it takes to draw attention away from this crazy girl I am watching throw a hissy-fit because she swears she can be the first American Idol they ever had to TEACH to sing!

TEACH TO SING? Seriously? Yeah, I'd like to be America's next top model... but they'd have to teach me to stop eating fist fulls of M&M's and teach me how to get my fat butt up off the couch.

Up off the couch? Yeah, that would SERIOUSLY get in the way of my watching IDOL!

Who IS that fool? They're giving him WAAAAAYY too much camera time! Although I have to admit he's so obnoxious it's kind of funny. ("Hollywood is New Jersey with celebrities"?!)
Maybe Jay Leno should make him a correspondent.
Okay, now this girl is turning on the water works.
And when did Carole Bayer Sager morph into Joan Collins?

There is a lot of great music in Memphis; let's hope this goes better than the Seattle auditions (what a nightmare!)
Okay, what are your thoughts so far? The promos looked pretty good, with the bearded guy wailing it out...

Okay, what is up with people in Seattle? That last girl in the turquoise dress was late for her pole-dancing shift. Why, oh why do these people think they are talented??? Do they not have insulting relatives to tell them the truth???
Maybe it's a new disease: You-Tube-itis. Your 15 megapixels of fame is just a click away.

Grab that popcorn and have a seat -- Season 6 of American Idol is underway!!!! Will we see the eventual winner tonight? Or just a bunch of crazy people who can sing?

Okay, first segment? That was cruel. I know people go in there and think they can nail an audition, but we stuck with that girl's pain a little too long. I think we all get it!
