HEMP!! What is HEMP? It's a plant. Can I use it to get "high"? NO. What can I do with it? Lots of things. Henry Ford used HEMP to build a car body of plastic, in the 1940s. You can use HEMP to power a car, or truck. You can make clothes from it's fibers. You can make paper from it, in fact you can get 400% more pulp from an acre of HEMP, than you can from an acre of trees. It has many, MANY uses. YA, BUT CAN I SMOKE IT AND GET HIGH? NO, NO, NO YOU CANNOT GET HIGH FROM IT.. It wold be an excelent cash crop for our struggling farmers. Why don't they grow it, you ask? THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IN IT'S REDICULOUS MARIJUANA HYSTERIA WON'T LET THEM. I personaly believe the fed is suppressing the production of this crop to protect their big business buddies from having to deal with the competition. I think this is illegal.  I mantion this because you should know how blatant the government can get in their corruption, because they think they have you totaly buffaloed, and you're not going to raise hell about it. You know, it's a shame, but they're probably right.

If we could use hemp for fuel:

1) The Middle East would literally dry up and blow away.

2) Corn would not be needed for ethanol, therefore food prices could stabilize.

3) American farmers would have a new monster cash crop.

4) Hurricanes would not effect fuel prices.

5) Drilling would not be an issue.

hempcarWhy haven't we already begun?

Ironman, you answered your own question of why our government will not allow the production of that product, it solves too many of today's problems.

But never fear, as soon as they find a way to tax every person in the US for even looking at it, they'll put it on the market !

Of course, they'll have it so expensive to use, with all their taxes, it'll be impractial to grow ! The American Way !

The idiots will come to a state that's trying to get HEMP legal as a cash crop, and demand that farmers put 8 or 10 ft chainlink fences around their fields. They come in crying about farmers growing recreational cannabis within the fields of HEMP. HEMP is of the same genre as recreational cannabis, it will cross pollinate. If recreational, or medical cannabis is cross pollinated it looses much of it's potency. No cultivator with a half a brain would try to grow "pot" and HEMP in the same field. The idiots of which I speak are the DEA. Henry Ford made his plastic bodied car with HEMR, SYSAL, and WHEAT STRAW. I don't see PETROLIUM anywhere in that formula. You would think the feds would be able to get their heads out of big oils butts, as slick as it must be. This pisses me off no end.

It isn't just farmer brown getting screwed, we are taking a beating to. I was told, this is unconfirmed, that the federal government imports $900,000,000.oo in HEMP products every year. Somebody want to explain that to me.

Of the people who may read this post, very few will take an interest in it. The main reason is that they don't think it concerns them. It only effects farmers out in the country, doesn't have anything to do with them. Well, you have noticed the price of gas going up, $3.20 a gallon. You only realy notice the price of diesel if you use desiel, $3.94 a gallon. Boy, I bet those people who bought desiel cars are realy pissed. More things are affected in your life by the price of desiel, than the price of gas. Farmers use desiel to plough their fields, sow their seeds, care for their crop as it grows, and reap that crop. Truckers use desiel to get that crop to the processing plant, then from there to the packaging factory, from there to the stores. Have you noticed how ezpensive food is getting lately? Corn is being used to make methanol. Did you know it takes more energy to produce methanol than you get from the methanol you have produced? Does that make any sense to you? It certainly doesn't make any sense to me. I have been trying to figure out how much biodesiel you can get from an acre of hemp. I'll keep looking.

300 gallons of hemp seed oil per acre. That figure is based on feral,(wild) hemp, AKA ditch weed. I have no doubt that considerably more could be obtained from a crop specificly planted for seed production. After the oil has been pressed from the seed, that which remains, 4 tons, could be used as food. LOOK IT UP ON THE NET. Put Hemp Bio Desiel in your search bar, check it out. There is absolutely no doubt, in my mind, that the federal government is maintaining HEMP as a schedule 1 controled Substance for the sole purpose of keeping the big oil companies from having to share the wealth. I do believe this is ILLEGAL.

I'm not an expert on hemp, but, isn't it illegal to grow because 99% of the people can't tell the difference between a hemp plant and a cannibas plant? It would drive law enforcement crazy trying to keep people from stealing the hemp plants to smoke. And by the way all biodesiel will freeze at 32 degrees. You can only run 25% bio in winter. The best legal crop for bio is cottonseed. Why not develop a cotton plant which produces more seed? Or is this another back door way to get pot legalized?

Bil, Cotton has many disease issues. Hemp is much easier to grow. Therefore, keeping fuel costs down.

May be right. But no kid is going to try to smoke it.

Hi bil; For a crop of "POT" to be worth the effort of growing it you need to keep it from being cross polinated. If you fail you will get a crop with so many seeds no self respecting pothead will buy it. It is legal for farmers to grow hemp in EVERY country on earth except the U.S. Does that mean that all of those countries have gone to hell, becasue everyone is smoking pot, hemp? If some kids do try to smoke hemp they will quickly learn that all they get for their trouble is a splitting headache.

KK; Thank you. That is indeed an excelent source of information. It is on record, bil, that Gearge Washington would take the time and effort to seperate the males, from the females of his garden.

This is a very good post and subject, Ironman.

Wish you had posted it in the news section, as it surely is, as well as sending it to some of our idiots in congress that want to destroy this country. ( Of course, most congressmen can't, or won't read anything. )

Thanks furbie. My intention with all my post is to get people to think. To try to get them to get on the net, and investigate for themselves. If someone doesn't like "my truth", they need to get all the facts to back up "their truth". For example= The process for making paper from wood pulp is not environmentally friendly at all. There are a number of hazardous chemicals used in the process. The process for changing hemp pulp into paper is MUCH more environmentally friendly. You can get 4 times the pulp from an acre of hemp than you can from an acre of trees. What possible sense does it make for the federal government to prevent American farmers from growing this crop? Ask your rep, congress person, your senator, what the hell, ask the governor. You will find that they have a bad habit of thanking you for your concern, but never give you a straight answer.

How true, all you ever get back is a form letter. What a crock those are.

I don't hate politics, just politicians !

If it works, get the government involved, it'll change then.

I live off Charles. My patriotism is on display for all to see.
Thanks Skoot. One evening in Jersey, out in the country I, and some friends of mine were stoned, and outside during a BIG flake snow storm. We were just enjoying mother nature, playing in the snow like children, which we were not, when mother nature decided to play with us. Have you ever seen lightning during a snow storm at night. AWSOME. An experience of a lifetime, have never seen it again.
