This video tells it like it is.

But we do need to bring new refineries online NOW.

Won't happen. Pelosi is so afraid of the environmental lobby that she is dodging votes on drilling domestically. Cowards, everyone of them are cowards.

I agree, Tru.

Thank you Scotty and TexasTru for your comments. There is no logical reason for America to be dependent on foreign oil when there are untapped oil deposits available on American owned land.

I agree and that's what amazes me. It's as if the Dems are in cahoots with those foreign nations that have control over our supply.

We need to drill - as a trade off, a new spending program - the dems could be given the honor of upgrading our electric grid nationwide to bring it into the current century.

Doing both those things, along with pouring the little American know how we have left into battery technology, should allow us to be energy independent and soon. If we can't come up with it, maybe the Chinese could sell it to us.

Wind solar, gas, coal and oil in a modern electric grid, along with all electric vehicles with charging stations like parking meters and battery technology like the Tesla has at a much lower cost and we would be moving.

We won't though. We will pay your mortgage if you default after getting a new and improved bailout from the Fed though. How special.

If the Democrats had not blocked drilling in Alaska a few years ago, that Oil would be online now.

Kestrel, they bottled up that oilfield in the 70's.

I've been blogging on this topic for days. When more than 70 percent of the American public is for something, Congress - especially in an election year - must take note. This is the answer to the Republican branding issue, and Democrats are handling it so poorly I think Republicans in Congress might actually make gains this year.

True. And sad. I wonder at what point environmentalists will get off their high horses and realize that they have caused this.

Don't hold your breath Tru. Liberals will continue to do everything they can to bring us down for 'our own good' of course. That mindset for control is very special to them.
I am tired of them whining about how many years it will take as they put it off yet another year....hope they keep this up til November, maybe the people will come to their senses and boot the little 'greenies' out.

Willie is right. The liberals know better than we and are doing this "for our own good."

Just hope that when we drill here it will be against the law to export even one drop.

On the contrary Moankie, with globalisation being what it is, every drop of oil should be on the open market.

Just remember, our drilling and production requirements in the late 1970's set a price control on domestic oil. The policy failed to produce any alleviation in the price of oil. I am completely against anything that might emulate this program.

I am a native Texan. Whether I express a liberal, moderate, or conservative viewpoint depends on the topic being discussed. I enjoy talking with people who are able to discuss differing opinions without being hateful or mean spirited. I like to have my beliefs challenged. I like to challenge the beliefs of others.
