"WASHINGTON - Barack Obama effectively clinched the Democratic presidential nomination Tuesday after a grueling marathon, based on an Associated Press tally of convention delegates, becoming the first black candidate ever to lead his party into a fall campaign for the White House."  - An exerpt I pasted from a yahoo news article. I'm pretty sure this isn't OFFICIAL and by no means am I trying to count eggs before they hatch but I think I'm right in saying alot of people saw this coming a little earlier down the road. So I guess we'll see how things will go through till November. I personally think Both candidates (McCain/Obama) will pretty much carry on the same they have for the past year attacking credibility, experience, decision making, etc. Thats how it works I guess, you make the other person look as inept as possible. Either way it's going to be close. A monumental part in history is unfolding before us and it's just a few months away. I'm casting my vote for Obama but either one would be vastly better than the pile of political crap that passes as the presidential administration we have now.

I was voting for McCain anyway, but I still am disturbed by the fact that I have no idea what Obama stands for. What has He done in his short political life?
I also don't like the fact that he never mentions his mother, the white side of himself. Does he do that because He wants the black vote?
You see, I was raised with the idea that people are human, we all bleed red.
I have a cousin, that has a black father, and white mother. We all knew him as "Don" He grew up in the same neighborhood as us, married had kids like the rest of us, we all just knew him as family.
So, I want to see what the "man" has done.

What I am angry about, I have gone to his website and emailed him to try to find out what kind of change he is talking about, and I still have not been answered. If he would answer me, I would feel better about him.

The US will go to HELL in a hand basket if McCain is not elected!!!

I totally agree, but from the polls I am hearing, clinton's backers will switch to McCain anyway, so why are we so worried.

No matter who wins at least George Bush will no longer be in office and for that I am eternally grateful.

You have to admit, Bush may not be the best president, but there have been worse (Jimmy Carter), so I am excited to know there are worse than he anyway. Plus, he can't do anything if congress votes no, and that is the same with Bush, we blame him for all our problems, and congress is the ones that have done all this to us, not the president, he doesn't pass the laws, he just suggests, and if they pass, that is congress, so why are we blaming him for what congress has done.

I have to say, I burst into laughter when Clinton didn't quit the race. She's waiting for something else to come out of Obama's closet I betcha.

The change he wants is redistribution of wealth, a slow slide to "social justice" or socialism as some call it. Oh, and he wants to kill babies - and if the baby accidentally survives he wants the doctor to be allowed to kill it anyway (see his partial birth abortion votes).

That is the only thing I know about him, he's a murderer, and thief. Ever heard of Robin Hood? He is trying to be a 21st century Robin Hood. Fact of the matter is, he is wanting to take money from the middle class and poor, not the rich. If it were the other way around, I might feel different. His "SO CALLED" change scares me to death.

It is scary indeed. But even if he were to rob the rich, who do you think gives people jobs? As for the abortion thing, he is actually out of the mainstream - sadly mainstream America is ok with legal abortion - but he goes even beyond that. Anyone who has ever carried a child knows they develop personality before they are born.

I agree, anyone that supports abortion after a child is born is sick.

And what is funny (not funny 'haha') is that the same people that are for killing the innocent unborn are against killing those found to be guilty of evil crimes in a court of law....

Trbingbc, probly the reason you have not received an answer, is he has nothing to say that would make sense. He is full of bs, and we all know it. His change is, your pocket change from you to some one else. You can bet there will be change, higher taxes, no border security no drilling for oil, ect.

This blog is from the 50's not 08. Hell in a hand basket you have got to be kidding me what basket. Bush has f this country up for 8 years. Money hungry people will kill this country not OBAMA. IT WILL TAKE MORE THAN FOUR YEARS TO FIX THIS MESS, IF IT CAN BE FIXED.

More than four years to fix what Obama does?

As I have said, why are we mad at Bush. He can't do anything if congress doesn't approve it. The Senate and House of Representatives run this country, not the president, he is just a figure, and a person that pushes things done, and oh, by the way, he couldn't have declared war on Iraq if the Senate and House didn't approve it. And they both approved it drastically. We just had to build up troops that Clinton downsized on so we would have enough people to go over there, so I am assuming that they had WMD, and had plenty of time to get rid of them before we could go over there. Just remember, the president doesn't run the country, Congress does.

This is me expressing myself. Just like alot of people I have hopes and goals of succeeding or at least doing something fulfilling with my life. I'll live my life the way I choose too, honoring my values and beliefs, and if you don't like my fire then don't come around, 'cause I'm gonna burn one down.
