This just really gets me all upset.  I would like to know what their excuse is now???  First, they blamed it all on Katrina.....well Katrina has cost me, the tax payer, enough already.  Then they say it's the high demand of summer and everybody is driving more and going on vacation.  Not to mention it costs more to make environmentally friendly gas in the summer.  I say BullSh_t.

Ok, it's fall and summer is over, demand is down....why is there a problem now??  Oh I see,   their pockets aren't quite fat enough.

This leads me to another question....why the hell do we still depend on foreign oil.  Why are we not drilling in Alaska?  Why the hell did Bush give these gas companies subsidies to build more refineries if they aren't building any???

Why, you ask? This is why:
The lack of refineries and the lack of drilling in Alaska are tied to the environmental movement. They have decided it is best for us to become completely dependent on foreign oil so we will be forced to use alternate fuel. They have conned enough people into believing Alaska will be destroyed (it won't) and the Gulf Coast will become a smog-basin (it won't) if the initiatives from the Administration go through.
Alternate fuel, of course, means several things to several people. Nuclear power is the most efficient, but the environmentalists have conned the officials in several states that it is too dangerous. Solar power is too expensive and not enough of a return to be feasible (if the entire desert from LA to Las Vegas was one solar panel field, it would power only the city of LA. And also, there is no technology yet to store any of that energy, so when the sun goes down, no energy). And wind power is too 'ugly' since the wind towers block the sights of those elected officials who live in pristine areas where wind towers would be placed. Also, of course, there is an environmental concern.
Of course there is.
So we are left with electric power, which is cheap and readily available. But to generate that electricity, people seem to forget you need wind, sun, coal, nuclear energy, or oil.
What a mess, right?
Perhaps when gas gets to $4.00 a gallon people will say enough is enough and we can start on some of the alternative sources mentioned earlier. Until then, we have to rely on a foreign entity (OPEC) and the environmental movement to regul

Wow, I got cut off. Sorry, here's the rest:
Until then, we have to rely on a foreign entity (OPEC) and the environmental movement to regulate the price of gas.
Which, as we know, is insane.
And also until then, the oil companies will do what any company will do; that is, exploit the situation.
We have to inform everyone who will listen these refineries need to be built now and we need to look into where in Alaska (not when) we can drill with doing the least amount of damage. Otherwise, gas will go up and up and . . .

The spike in oil prices is due to the uncertainty in the mid east..Full scale war is fixin to break out over there. When it does, the Arab countries will unite and we will get no more oil from them...

By the middle of next summer gasoline prices should be about %15.00 per gallion If you can find any...

Might oil up the chain on your bicycle..

Greed is the reason we have a spike in gas prices. Oil companies know we need gas, so they're stick'n it to us. - It's not about the middle East, it's about Corporate greed.

If you want to bring gasoline prices down it is quite simple--buy your gasoline at the lowest price you can find.

If you pay two cents a gallon more at a station just it is more convenient than driving an extra block to save the two cents you are defeating your purpose.
