Whether you love or hate the Texas Longhorns, you have to admit they've been treated unfairly by the Bowl Champsionship Series and the Big Twelve.  Because that league uses the BCS first for a tiebreaker, Oklahoma, of the Big 12 South,  jumped in front of Texas on Sunday in the BCS standings and will battle Missouri, of the Big 12 North, in the league championship game. They based this on the Sooners having higher computer rankings. The last time I checked... computer rankings didn't play on the field.  Texas now has to watch Oklahoma, (a team it beat on the field head to head during the regular season), take on Missouri (another team the Horns beat head to head on the field during the regular season), in the title game.  That's not fair.  In fact, the BCS system stinks!  It's the reason LSU won the national crown last year with two losses.  And the BCS is the reason Auburn didn't get a chance to play for the championship a few years ago when the Tigers finished the season undefeated.  It's time to throw out the BCS and bring in the playoffs. Let the national champion earn its title on the field.

Stoops knows its a mess. Yes he is in the B12C, but know the kind of guy he is in the media, he wont be agreeing on it. He wont give up his opportunity, but you know he isn't going to be boasting about it. If he is questioned about it....he simply says, "I dont want to talk about it. " Mac Brown is the same way. BCS NEEDS TO GO WITHOUT QUESTION....

It's past time for a playoff system. Every year someone gets screwed with the BCS, and it's the horns time this year. All I can say is they should have beat Tech and this wouldn't have happened.

Shoulda, Coulda and Woulda...the three sisters, are the reason the Horns are taking the back seat. No man-made system it perfect, and the BCS proves that. We need something better and the playoff system is the only fair way. Add my voice to those calling for them.

You're absolutely right, Max.

It's a miscarriage of justice.

Texas played a tougher schedule (.590 opponents win percentage vs. OU's .556)

Texas had the closest loss (on a last-second miracle play)

And Texas didn't get to play any of the "three-way" series at home. They played Tech on the road and OU on a neutral field. The Sooners didn't have to play a road game in that series.

I keep hearing about "margin of victory" from the OU fans because it's all they have to talk about. I don't care how many points you scored in the 4th quarter of games that were already decided. I'm sorry, Sooners, that 57-2 win over Chattanooga doesn't impress me. Neither does the classless TD with :30 left this weekend against Oklahoms State. Everyone knows Mack Brown would take a knee in that situation.

The Longhorns played a tougher schedule, ended up with the same record and beat OU 45-35 on a neutral field.

It was a no-brainer and the voters proved they have no brains.

I've been saying that college football needed a playoff system for years. Basketball has one. why not Football?

THE BOTTOM LINE: THE 'HORNS SHOULD BE THERE AND NOT THE SOONERS. MAYBE A LITTLE BIAS CAUSE ITS OUR TEAM GETTENG THE SHORT END OF THE STICK.

BUT LOOK, WE WOULDNT BE GOING THROUGH THIS IF.......... MAC BROWN "COACH" WOULD HAVE KILLED THE CLOCK THERE AT THE END OF THE GAME.

OUR SECONDARY IS OUR WEEK SPOT. IT IS FULL OF FRESHMAN WITH POTENTIAL. AND YOU KNOW THEY ARE GOING TO HAVE TO THROW TO SCORE, BUT YET TECH WAS ALLOWED THE OPPORTUNITY TO BEAT US.

BRING IN THE NEW YOUNGER COACH. I AM TIRED OF BEING SECOND TO OU. THE ONLY REASON WE BEAT THEM, WHEN WE DO IS BECAUSE OUR GUYS ARE SPECTACULAR. (VINCE YOUNG, ROY WILLIAMS, CEDRIC BENSON)

AND WHEN WE DIDN'T, WE WERE OUT COACHED.

A playoff would be good, but then we'd debate over whether someone got left out that should have been included. I'm all for letting teams earn the title on the field, but we need to apply that to their rankings as well. In other words rank them based on record, head to head competition and strength of schedule. By this measure, Utah is the #1 team in the country right now. They're undefeated and have a tougher strength of schedule than Alabama.

One thing you can't blame the BCS for is the Big 12 Championship. Who was the genius that decided to let the BCS dictate how their conference Championship was going to play out.
