MikeDoocy's Blog

Last Post 4 days, 5 hours Ago

Good morning from Green Bay (actually Manitowoc, where we're staying about 35 miles away).   Had a chance to head over to Lambeau Field last night for some fan interviews.  Already people tailgating 24 hours before the game.  It's truly a unique NFL atmosphere.

Last night, we had dinner at "Fuzzy's," which is owned by former Packer Fuzzy Thurston.  It's a real slice of Packer nation.   Along with the usual fare of cheese curds and brew,  there's a Packer pro shop,  offering T-shirts and other memorabilia.  And in the corner is Thurston,  now in his 70's.   He had throat cancer years ago,  and has no voice box.  But he's as spry as ever,  posing for photos with everybody who asks for one.

Mostly Packer jersies in the place of course.  But there was one couple wearing Cowboy gear,  including Romo jersies.  They happened to live in Tony's hometown of Burlington,  about  two hours south of GB.

As for Sunday night's game,  I think Packer QB Aaron Rodgers will make one or two more crucial mistakes than Tony Romo will.  Give me Dallas 31-27..

Going to Lambeau and watching the COWBOYS is on my "do before I die" list. I've always heard it's like nowhere else in the NFL.

Well Mike, if Tony will go into this game with the mindset that this is the BIG ONE-The Superbowl and not think of it as just another game, them maybe we'll come out the winners. I was a bit disappointed when I read Tony's comments in the news of how this is just another game.
GO COWBOYS!

Alright, with all the smack talkin aside, the truth is, I have no idea what to expect. This game could go either way.

I know the Cowboys are favored and they do have plenty of vets and more probowlers than anyone ever had. The Pack is the second youngest team in the NFL, but I expect to see a good one.

May the better team win.

Go Packers!!!

You got to take it one game at a time. Of course you play it like it was your last, but, you can't think about a game you haven't even played yet, let alone a Super Bowl! So, Romo is keeping his head from being inflated. Good for him!!

Tell em Phoint!! We let the Boys win so they can think they are the team to beat. We all know it;s the Eagles. The Eagles will do the Pack a favor and knock Dallas out at Tx. Stadium and then they will have to travel to Lambeau field in late january.

Go Packers!!!

I hope that they use Austin along with Barber. Now they would be a good combo.

They were saying that the packers look like their gas tanks were on empty last night

THEY don't know what THEY are talking about.

Props to the Cowboys running game.

The passing game wasn't there at all though. Two big plays by Romo came after cornerback Al Harris and A. Bigby went out with injuries.

Doocy, share your thoughts on the game.

The interception is what made the passing game seemed like it wasn't there PB!.. I know you remember 2 big throws to Austin that were the turning point in the game. One to set up a Barber touchdown and the other that Austin scored himself. As for the running game, Barber couldn't be stopped, but, that is what you want from a running back so you can control the game and wear down the defense. That offensive line is magnificent this year!!
