Even if the Democratic Party agrees to re-do the primaries in Florida and Michigan, Hillary Clinton may not pick up enough votes and delegates to catch Barack Obama.

Rasmussen polls out this morning show Clinton with a lead in Florida, 55-39%, and tied with Obama in Michigan 41-41%.

Problem for Clinton is exactly what is was in Texas and Ohio, and will be in Pennsylvania.  She might win the popular vote.  But because Democratic delegates are awarded based on proportion of the vote, she would have to have landslide victories in every state the rest of the way to wipe out Obama's nearly 100-delegate lead.

For example, after sweeping the popular vote in TX and OH Tuesday, Sen. Clinton netted only 15 delegates more than Sen. Obama.  Florida and Michigan combined offer 367 Democratic delegates.  Then there's the issue of Obama on the ballot in Michigan:  he wasn't originally on it because his campaign knew the primary wouldn't count.

Do you think these primaries should be re-staged so that their delegates can count?  And do you think Clinton could realistically catch Obama?

I still can't believe there are two major states that won't have their voices be heard. I'd be fuming if I lived in either of those places.

There are rules that both states knew about beforehand and both states still went ahead and moved up primaries. Voters in both states should take it up with their state lawmakers.

The state lawmakers should be held accountable. Of course, there will be another deal made and somehow they will get a chance to be heard.

It won't matter. Clinton will not win the nomination by fair means. She will not win the requisite delegates nor the popular vote. She will also not win when (not if) Florida and Michigan have recounts or mail-ins. She will only win through back-room deals and quid-pro-quo and the kind of politics she has perfected.
We the people know it, the media knows it, and yet we all continue to play this game.
She claims the media has been soft on Obama and that she has been dealt with harshly. This woman has never been truly 'vetted', as she claims, since she never answered any direct questions about her dealings (cattle futures, Whitewater, etc.). She will scratch and claw her way to the nomination and if the democratic party is fractured because of it, so be it. Do not underestimate the lust for power of this woman.

I'll always think of Florida and Michigan as the whining states from now on. They are not being disenfranchised...they CHOSE to be disenfranchised and now they don't like it. Tough. Grow up. Get a life. Undoubtedly, they will be allowed to flaunt their disregard for the rules and this will show, for many, the clear rule of the Democratic party...win at all costs, the means justifies the end.

You break the rules, you pay the consequences. They chose not to follow the criteria ALL the other states have to so the penalty is justified. I agree with Mathman that Florida & Michigan are the "whiny" states.

I hope Hillary can win. She has my vote.
I may be voting for someone else if there was someone except for her and Barack. Barack is charming, but there is also to much not known about him. I dont like his answers when he is asked about something his pastor has said. He doesnt make things clear enough.
I have a feeling Im gonna get attacked now lol

As Fox 7's State Political Reporter I often tell people I have the privilege of front row season tickets to the best circus around. Blogging allows me to share with you all the things I can't fit into a 2 minute segment during a newscast, and perhaps even some personal thoughts about the things we cover. This has been a growing part of our news coverage since we launched this part of our website in September 2006. If you have any thoughts on what I write or what your elected servants are doing, feel free to chime in.
