The report today that the Democratic Party is “washing its hands” of the Primary Caucus is outrageous.  This was a historic year for Texas politics and over 1 million voters came out to caucus after the polls closed on Tuesday night, March 4th.

What angers me about this decision is that like many citizens, I went beyond civic duty to come back to my polling place to caucus.  It was the first time I had ever experienced a caucus and it was a horrible experience.  We were told it will only take about an hour.  I arrived at my polling place at 6:45pm, but did not leave until close to 10pm.  What happened during that time was nothing short of “Train Wreck.”

It was disorganized, chaotic, and the precinct chair was obviously getting on the job training as the night progressed.  Many voters left early angered by the lack of organization and many shouting matches between the Hillary camp and Obama camp.

I hope the Democratic Party will reconsider its position and work through to the state convention vote at the end of this month.

...And, to rub a little salt into an already open wound, the Texas caucus results seem to indicate that Senator Obama will actually win more delegates, despite the fact that Senator Clinton won the daytime, ballot vote. And it's the delegate total that's important.

Ironically, the present system was designed by the Bill Clinton Democrats. It has just risen up to bite his wife in the butt.

Obama will win the majority of Mississippi's 33 delegates by a WIDE margin and increase his delegate total even more. I'd say Mrs. Clinton is toast.

I am a Texan through and through, but I come from a family yankees (New York City to be exact). You can imagine being the first in my family to be born in Dallas, Texas. They all said I was adopted, not a true WEST, but you know what I take pride in being from Texas. Anyway, besides coming from a large family (6 siblings) and a family that converted from Irish Catholic to Southern Baptist, we are all military too (well at least the men our family are). Wow, the more I think about it, I should write a sit-com about my family. Look out FOX TV, I have your next hit right here!!!! I was a parartrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division where I served a broadcast journalist (yes those kind of ARMY jobs do exsist). After the military I returned home recieved my undergraduate from Hardin-Simmons University and attended film school at University of Texas (Austin). I now over-see our online sales division for Fox TV here in Dallas. Enjoy the Blogs!
