Well, guess what happened to me this morning? Got up to go have breakfast out and some low life broke into our truck. They broke out the rear glass and stole a lot of stuff inside. I live in a gated senior complex, and was amazed how bold they were. Not only did they break into our truck , but anouther ladys car got it close by. They cut her cloth top and stole her raido out. I really feel mad knowing we make a hard honest living, just so some punks can come along and steal because they are too lazy to work. I'm mad and also thankful they did not do more damage than what they did. All I can say is may God deal with them.

I live in a gated community also and two years ago someone broke into my car (must have used a slim jim as no broken glass) and stole the ignition box from my car... I know how stressful it is to deal with thefts. We now have a DPD officer living in the complex and he regularly patrols. The thefts have dropped off. I think the thieves come into the gate right nehind someone else and that's how they get it. They need to install cameras at the entrances. This crime stuff is way out of hand.

Gated communities are only as good as the weakest link. My mom lives in one that the gate is open ALL DAY. Anyone could walk in there and hide. Somebody is probably letting them in.

MrsVick,I'm sincerely sorry this happened to you but it's happening all over the Metroplex unfortunately.Just the other day one of our neighbors had his am/fm stereo taken from his truck.I"m taking a stand again crime in our area by speaking to our City Council members as well as the Police about stepping up patrols in our apt complex. They have both been very receptive to this and I'm sure if you contact your City Council members and your local Police Dept they'll do all they can to help you also. Good Luck.

I'm with Gracie, I'm glad you didn't get hurt !
Car security is a laughing matter to thieves anymore, nothing's safe.
We had a policeman that worked security where I did work, a while back. He bought a new Corvette convertible and parked it up close and in the light. It wasn't two weeks old before they cut the top, stole his stereo system and two front tires, while he was working about thirty feet away.
Bad thing to him : he worked auto theft on the force.

Thanks all for your inputs. I know it happens all the time, but it shure does make it feel bad when it happens to yourself. I know life goes on and I am very thankful that more damage wasn't done. I'm even more glad it was not done with us in the truck or done in our apartment.
You know, to those thugs, WHAT GOES AROUND, COMES AROUND! So sleep well and wait for your turn!
