It's about 6 months away...I don't know who all reads my blog, but I am about to start the LONG, hopefully--hopeful job search.
I have started a website with my work as a reporter at KOMU 8 News, which is an NBC station at my Journalism school where we are able to report as if it were a real job.
Here's a link to the site:
http://nguillory.weebly.comSend it to news directors if you know any! :-) I'm looking for input and whatever else comes my way.

For my local TV station...aka my school, I am headed to Baton Rouge, LA to cover the Boone Electric line man team that is headed there to cover their relief efforts.
I hope it will be a successful relief effort too....And I hope all friends and family of mine and others' are ok.
Wish them well, and me as well as I embark on this journey back to my homeland.

It's the new documentary on CNN airing Wed and Thursday at 8PM CST on CNN. It's been getting raved reviews from critics, so it's probably a good watch.

Missouri is by far the weirdest place EVER for weather. Today we had an earthquake and now it's raining with a bit of lighting and thunder.
If this isn't weird than I don't know what is:
"A 5.4 earthquake in Illinois has rocked people awake as far away as Indiana, surprising residents unaccustomed to such a large temblor in the Midwest."
Here's a blurb from my local station:http://www.komu.com/satellite/SatelliteRender/K

I haven't been updating all that much, but I see that you have! :D
Lately, I have been sooooo busy with school and consumed with Broadcast class work and other journalism classes I am taking (History of American Journalism and Communications Law)...both of which SUCK, but clearly we need to know the law as journalists. They are trying to teach it to me in 16 weeks. It's working slowly but surely.
I have been pushed to the limit lately, I have never pulled so many all-nighters before in m college career..I've pulled at least 6 this semester. And there's still not enough time to get all I need to get done.
A few other developments include: looking for a place to live come July 1st...that hasn't been going so well. Fixing my p.o.s. 1994 Nissan Altima to get inspected...that's going ok I guess. I do need a new windshield and a new driverside seat belt (any suggestions on where I can get the seat belt for CHEAP? SAVE ME STEVE!!!! Cheap Auto Parts?)...also I am preparing for a CRAZY-JOURNALISM-BLITZ this summer. I am taking Broadcast II and Broadcast III this summer which should and will be FUN AND CRAZY. I want to be pushed to the limit and I know one of my teachers (Broadcast II) is a great teacher and he's going to push me and get me to learn this stuff to a T. I'm excited! I want him to get me IN LOVE WITH JOURNALISM again...b/c these other classes are making me hate it.
I won't be able to take a break from this semester till Thanksgiving or Labor Day probably. Oh the things I do for journalism...ha!
Well, I hope everyone is well and I hope FOX 4 is doing GREAAAT! Any word on when FOX 4 will be in HD, anyone???
Check back often this summer to read about my experiences reporting and such.

Aretha's pissed and fired up...
Beyonce called Tina the queen...but as we all know Aretha pretty much branded herself the Queen along time ago....You decide.
LOS ANGELES (AP) - When Aretha Franklin is unhappy, she does not mince
words. On Tuesday, the longtime Queen of Soul slammed Beyonce Knowles'
intro to Tina Turner at Sunday's Grammy Awards, in which Knowles called
Turner, not Franklin, "the queen."
"I am not sure of whose toes I may have stepped on or whose ego I may
have bruised between the Grammy writers and Beyonce," Franklin said in
a statement issued by her publicist. "However, I dismissed it as a
cheap shot for controversy."
E-mails to Knowles' publicist Yvette Noel-Schure and calls and e-mails
to Recording Academy spokeswomen Jaime Sarachit and Barb Deghan were
not immediately returned.
In the first few seconds of Knowles' intro to Turner's performance, she
name-dropped Franklin and a long list of famed female singers. Then the
"Crazy in Love" chanteuse focused on Turner.
"There is one legend who has the essence of all of those things: the
glamour, the soul, the passion, the strength, the talent," said
Knowles, strutting in hot pants. "Ladies and gentlemen. Stand on your
feet and give it up for the queen."
At a party later that night, Knowles called Turner her "ultimate icon."
