Can we all just wait until the season gets under way and see how this guy does as head coach before judging him? He seems to be a good down home Texas guy who feels strongly that happy locker rooms spread out onto the field and the guys play better when they play as a team. As long as the Cowboys play to their potential, the Pillsbury dough boy could run this team and they would still have a good year. Perhaps what some view as a "puppet" is actually a coach that is open to allow OTHER coaches input and yes the GM who by the way might possibly know a thing or two about football at this point.

There's nothing wrong with discussion but for goodness sake, give the guy a chance. Norv Turner already had one, get over it. Jimmy aint coming back, cry about it. Just give  Phillips a break, and see what the season brings.

I thought the funniest part of this whole thing was the way the Chargers only released Schottenheimer...when the Cowboys had already picked their coach...lmao! Now there is a good coach! He got screwed by his Chargers...no jobs left now...are there?

wow, thank you nikki!!! un-real , not trying to be chauvinistic, but i had given up on a lot of the male "sports fans" (and that is using the term loosely, more like drama queens) members of this fox4 blog "community" commenting on this cowboy head coaching/owner deal with an ounce of common sense and objectivity. when you come along and throw out the thought of the day that puts a wrap on it. great point and way to go!

Anyone that worked for Jerry Jones other than Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcells is a Yes man! Are you silly to think that if they were would they have gone anywhere? Good ole boy won't work and has never done so! Just because the guy is from Texas doesn't make you a winner. Let's see, did he win a Super bowl? NOT! You have to prove yourself first and with the staff they have now I just don't think this is possible. If Jerry is picking the staff that isn't what a Real Head Coach will go for.. Let's face it this team is headed for trouble with TO still on the team. Most of the players wanted him out rather than the coach to leave!
