Deroy Murdock: McCain the choice for freedom, prosperity By DEROY MURDOCK 23 minutes ago Americans will choose today between two clear and distinct agendas. John McCain proposes more freedom, choice and prosperity. Barack Obama offers less of each.
John McCain would rejuvenate America's moribund economy by halving the capital gains and dividend taxes from 15 percent to 7.5, chopping the globally uncompetitive corporate tax from 35 percent to 25, and letting today's 45 percent death tax settle at 15 percent on estates above $5 million. He also has proposed letting Americans choose either today's 67,204-page tax code or a voluntary flatter, simpler tax with two rates of perhaps 25 and 15 percent. Obama would stuff a pillow over the face of America's bedridden economy by boosting capital gains and dividend taxes from 15 percent to 20. He would hike top income tax rates from 33 and 35 percent to 36 and 39.6 percent. He also would maintain the 35 percent corporate tax and a 45 percent death tax on estates above $3.5 million.
Obama promises "tax cuts" to 95 percent of Americans, even though 44 percent of filers pay $0 in income taxes. A shifting target of taxpayers would finance these transfer payments. "If you make $250,000 a year or less, we will not raise your taxes," Obama declared last July 8. "We will cut your taxes." On Oct. 25, Obama's threshold slipped. "If you have a job, pay taxes and make less than $200,000 a year, you'll get a tax cut," he said in a commercial. VP nominee Joe Biden told Scranton, Pa.'s WNEP last week that tax cuts "should go to middle-class people -- people making under $150,000 a year." "It's interesting how their definition of rich has a way of creeping down," McCain said last month in Pennsylvania. Wherever Obama's vacuum nozzle lands, he should unplug it. Tax hikes are foolish in boom times and idiotic when the gross domestic product shrinks 0.3 percent, as it did last quarter.
McCain would revolutionize health care by establishing an individual market, so Americans could own and control their insurance. They could buy across state lines and transport coverage from job to job, to school, to home-based business or wherever. Americans could stop keeping thankless positions at thoughtless companies solely to remain insured. McCain would offer $2,500 refundable tax credits for individuals and $5,000 for families to help purchase coverage that suits their needs, not The Man's. Obama offers a potpourri of paternalistic options, from keeping employer-provided coverage to buying a government-run plan from his National Health Insurance Exchange. "Insurance sold in the Exchange would be guaranteed issue and community rated," warns National Center for Policy Analysis president John Goodman. "This means people would be able to wait until after they get sick to insure, and they would be able to do so without any financial penalty." Coverage costs have soared in states that impose these unforgiving regulations. "This is America, the most resourceful country on Earth," VP nominee Sarah Palin told Toledo, Ohio, voters last Wednesday in a superb energy-policy address. "We can drill, and refine, and mine, enrich, reprocess, invent, build, conserve, grow and use every available means to regain our independence (on energy)." McCain-Palin's "all of the above" approach would include fast-tracking 45 atomic power plants for construction by 2030. McCain also has promised Iowa corn farmers that they can kiss goodbye their costly, distorted, environmentally ruinous ethanol program. Obama wants a windfall profits tax -- a disincentive to new oil production. He says he now favors offshore drilling. But watch Democrats exhume the just-expired offshore-drilling moratorium. Obama even sponsored legislation to prohibit expanded high-tech maps and measurements of sub-oceanic hydrocarbons. He also would increase mandated ethanol production 67 percent by 2030 -- never mind the global chaos ethanol triggered by turbo-charging corn prices.
With the economy gasping, America needs greater freedom, broader choices, lower taxes and cheaper energy. John McCain's congruent policies will spur prosperity. Barack Obama's contrary proposals will stymie it.
Up or down? You decide.

This is really a good article about the ad that Obama spent so much money to run and I would encourage anyone and everyone to read it! Especially those of you who still believe the BS that Obama tells you. :-)
PS, for those who don't know, you can cut and paste the link if it does not automatically redirect you! tee-hee

Today, Obama is dominating the television ad wars. As of Oct. 22, Obama placed 150 percent more ads than McCain in Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia, according to the Nielsen Co. Despite all that, and despite his lead in national and most battleground polls, the campaign decided to plunk down between $3 and $5 million to buy half-hour blocks of time at 8 p.m. tonight on NBC, CBS, FOX, Univision, BET, MSNBC and TV One for delivery of his final argument to the voters.
Call me crazy but it seems that Obama has a history of excessive spending. If Americans are so sick of the way Washington blows money how can they believe this high roller will offer any relief in that area? He is all about the money.

No matter what your political convictions are this is an eye opener....What a thankless people we are!!!
David Letterman, on President Bush. (Surprising)
David Letterman wrote this; it's the David we don't often see....
'As most of you know I am not a President Bush fan, nor have I ever been, but this is not about Bush, it is about us, as Americans, and it seems to hit the mark.'
'The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine and came across some Poll data I found rather hard to believe. It must be true given the source, right?
The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country is unhappy with the performance of the President. In essence 2/3 of the citizenry just ain't happy and want a change. So being the knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, 'What are we so unhappy about?'
A. Is it that we have electricity and running water 24 hours a day, 7 Days a week?
B. Is our unhappiness the result of having air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter?
C. Could it be that 95.4 percent of these unhappy folks have a job?
D. Maybe it is the ability to walk into a grocery store at any time and see more food in moments than Darfur has seen in the last year?
E. Maybe it is the ability to drive our cars and trucks from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean without having to present identification papers as we move through each state.
F. Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we would find along the way that can provide temporary shelter?
G. I guess having thousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around the world is just not good enough either.
H. Or could it be that when we wreck our car, emergency workers show up and provide services to help all and even send a helicopter to take you to the hospital.
I. Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of Americans who own a home.
J. You may be upset with knowing that in the unfortunate case of a fire, a group of trained firefighters will appear in moments and use top notch equipment to extinguish the flames thus saving you, your family, and your belongings.
K. Or if, while at home watching one of your many flat screen TVs, a burglar or prowler intrudes, an officer equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof vest will come to defend you and your family against attack or loss.
L. This all in the backdrop of a neighborhood free of bombs or militias raping and pillaging the residents. Neighborhoods where 90% of teenagers own cell phones and computers.
M. How about the complete religious, social and political freedoms we enjoy that are the envy of everyone in the world?
Maybe that is what has 67% of you folks unhappy.
Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful, spoiled brats the world has ever seen. No wonder the world loves the U.S. , yet has a great disdain for its citizens. They see us for what we are. The most blessed people in the world who do nothing but complain about what we don't have, and what we hate about the country instead of thanking the good Lord we live here.
I know, I know. What about the president who took us into war and has no plan to get us out? The president who has a measly 31 percent approval rating? Is this the same president who guided the nation in the dark days after 9/11? The president that cut taxes to bring an economy out of recession? Could this be the same guy who has been called every name in the book for succeeding in keeping all the spoiled ungrateful brats safe from terrorist attacks? The commander in chief of an all-volunteer army that is out there defending you and me?
Did you hear how bad the President is on the news or talk show? Did this news affect you so much, make you so unhappy you couldn't take a look around for yourself and see all the good things and be glad? Think about it......are you upset at the President because he actually caused you personal pain OR is it because the 'Media' told you he was failing to kiss your sorry ungrateful behind every day.
Make no mistake about it. The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have volunteered to serve, and in many cases may have died for your freedom. There is currently no draft in this country. They didn't have to go. They are able to refuse to go and end up with either a ''general'' discharge, an 'other than honorable'' discharge or, worst case scenario, a ''dishonorable' discharge after a few days in the brig.
So why then the flat-out discontentment in the minds of 69 percent of Americans?
Say what you want, but I blame it on the media. If it bleeds it leads and they specialize in bad news. Everybody will watch a car crash with blood and guts. How many will watch kids selling lemonade at the corner? The media knows this and media outlets are for-profit corporations. They offer what
sells, and when criticized, try to defend their actions by 'justifying' them in one way or another. Just ask why they tried to allow a murderer like O.J. Simpson to write a book about how he didn't kill his wife, but if he did he would have done it
this way......Insane!
Turn off the TV, burn Newsweek, and use the New York Times for the bottom of your bird cage. Then start being grateful for all we have as a country. There is exponentially more good than bad. We are among the most blessed people on Earth and should thank God several times a day, or at least be thankful and appreciative.' 'With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, 'Are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?'
-David Letterman

Notice to All Employees As of November 5, 2008, when President Obama is officially elected into office, our company will install a few new policies which are in keeping with his new, inspiring issues of change and fairness:
1. All salespeople will be pooling their sales and bonuses into a common pool that will be divided equally between all of you. This will serve to give those of you who are underachieving a “fair shake.”
2. All low level workers will be pooling their wages, including overtime, into a common pool, dividing it equally amongst yourselves. This will help those who are “too busy for overtime” to reap the rewards from those who have more spare time and can work extra hours.
3. All top management will now be referred to as “the government.” We will not participate in this “pooling” experience because the law doesn't apply to us.
4. The “government” will give eloquent speeches to all employees every week, encouraging it's workers to continue to work hard “for the good of all.”
5. The employees will be thrilled with these new policies because it's “good to spread the wealth.” Those of you who have underachieved will finally get an opportunity; those of you who have worked hard and had success will feel more “patriotic.”
6. The last few people who were hired should clean out their desks. Don't feel bad, though, because President Obama will give you free healthcare, free handouts, free oil for heating your home, free food stamps, and he'll let you stay in your home for as long as you want even if you can't pay your mortgage. If you appeal directly to our democratic congress, you might even get a free flat screen TV and a coupon for free haircuts (shouldn't all Americans be entitled to nice looking hair?) !!!
If for any reason you are not happy with the new policies, you may want to rethink your vote on November 4th.

I find it very disturbing that Palin is being nailed to the cross for her dealings, yet people seem to turn away when asked to acknowledge that Obama has had and still does have affiliations with people that most would agree are seriously crazy people who hate our country. They despise our democracy and seek to destroy it. You are not safe just because you vote for him, oh no. You will stripped of your freedoms too and then as we stand in the bread line together, doctors, layers, sex offenders, plumbers, teachers, convicted felons, murders, rapist, soldiers, mothers, fathers and children, then you will get it.
I’m not saying that each candidate’s character should not be questioned. OF COURSE IT SHOULD. So stop being hypocrites and saying that when Republicans want to talk about Obama and his past that we are racist or crazy. Give me a break. Let’s hang everyone’s dirty laundry out and we can elect a president knowing hey, this is who they are, where they have been, what they have done, OK. I can live or not live with that. Crucifying any candidate without offering the same scrutiny to another is just BS. Maybe that’s why Democrats are buying Obama’s bull because he has done such a good job pointing the attention in the other direction people forgot to find out anything about him. That’s what the enemy does you know. They distract you then attack you.

I want to say to all the voters who have mentioned voting for other candidates other then Obama or McCain. PLEASE don’t do that!!! It is a waste of your voice, really. As hard as it may be, please make a decision and vote for Obama or McCain! Make a list, read about them, figure out what they have to offer and make a choice. I would prefer you choose McCain, just FYI! As I have mentioned I don’t like either ticket 100 % BUT, I can tell you that my intuition tells me Obama is not the man for the job. For the believers out there, pray about it! Ask God to show you truth from deception.

I have found myself pouring over all the political bolgs today in hopes that I would begin to gain understanding on where the average voter is coming from. I know how I am voting so it’s not to seek facts but rather try and see how and why people are choosing each presidential candidate.
With so many issues facing us, economy, national security, loss of homes and jobs, there are so many other factors I observed that are driving peoples decision. Is this the election that will change the course of this nation? Will Americans select a president just because he is a Democrat or maybe vote for him just because he is black? Will Americans vote for a candidate just because he was a POW or just because he is white?
I was never and still am not sold on either candidate 100%. I have made my focus and decision based on facts and when you look at those and not other BS, it makes this decision very easy. I don’t believe any president gets in office and is able to give all he/she promised. I do believe that strong character, determination and accountability for our next commander in chief is a must because they will have to take on Washington in a way that may never have been done before. I don’t think Obama has that in him. We need a fighter, and not just someone to fight terror but someone who loves this country and wants to ensure that our freedoms and prosperity aren’t compromised. It wont be easy, fast or free from mistakes but McCain has the will and God knows it’s in the mans heart to serve us the American people.
I would like to keep this from bashing and finger pointing and I want to see what people are feeling about this election. Please, share you thoughts and God Bless America.
