I fail to understand why the lady who has gone missing in Bedford was still driving at the age of 89 . Common sense tells me that if she is too weak to walk to her car then she is definitely not strong enough to go on these crazy roads and drive.  I have driven in Bedford specially the 183 and its NOT a place for anyone whose reactions are not good. I know its hard for people to cope with the loss of independence when they are unable to drive but its something all families need to be aware of.

Kowboy's right, now the family will come on all concerned ! They should have been concerned after she did the same thing last year, and not let her be in that situation again.

I think part of the problem is that family's are so busy that having to transport or find transportation for an elderly person is just not on their agenda. The really sad part is that she had gotten lost before and ended up in Denton. She could be in Kansas by now. It seems like every month we have another story about a senior individual with dementia or Alzheimers or just elderly and frail, getting lost in their car.

Ebby Halliday, realtor in Dallas, is 96 and still drives her Mercedes down Dallas North Tollway every morning at 6:00AM coming in to work.

Just heard that they found the woman. Her car was in the ditch in Oklahoma and she was dead. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. Sad.

Well lets hope that there will be a lesson learnt here, this is so sad and unnecessary
