TM and her alliance - I call them the Axis Powers - can do and say what they want. I'm done. To any WWE fans out there, I liken my situation on this site to the Chris Jericho - Shawn Michaels storyline. Michaels takes the easy road, does whatever he wants, people still love him. Yet, I, likening myself to Jericho, see past Michaels, which would be the Axis Powers, and realize that I can't win, no matter what I say or whatever logic I bring about, I'll still be p1ssed on. So, I'll do what he does and just forget about trying to please and satisfy an insatiable audience that threw him overboard long ago. Forget about the people I thought were "friends." If they can't see the truth, BLEEP 'EM.

BLEEP 'EM.

Anyway!

I had an advance listen at Metallica's new album, Death Magnetic.

It is absolutely amazing.

It has the atmosphere of the albums from the 80's, but there are a few songs that bring out their newer side, sort of a revival from both the 80's and 90's era...

DEFINITELY an improvement of St. Anus -- I mean -- St. Anger.

I don't care if I've heard it, I will be in line at midnight to get this album on 12 September.

Of course, it is still epically long. 10 songs on a 75 minute album... you do the math. the shortest song is 5:10, the longest song, an epic instrumental, is 9:57. THERE IS ANOTHER CHAPTER TO THE UNFORGIVEN SAGA... there is The Unforgiven III on this album, and I think it is as good as the first two.

And, of course, the legendary Kirk Hammett brought back the GUITAR SOLO! After one long, meandering album without a single one.

Lots of tempo changes, speed, aggression, power and of course, something that lacked from the previous Metallica album - effort.

"How can I blame you, when it's me I can't forgive?"

They played i last night on 97.1 from Metallica's HQ with Dave Grohl hosting and Metallica answering questions and carp like that.

A record store in France released it early and people posted it online...

This is what Lars said about it:

"Listen, we're ten days from release. I mean, from here, we're golden. If this thing leaks all over the world today or tomorrow, happy days. Happy days. Trust me. Ten days out and it hasn't quote-unquote fallen off the truck yet? Everybody's happy. It's 2008 and it's part of how it is these days, so it's fine. We're happy."

What do you think about Metallica's newest release? Call me old but it can't hold a candle to the old stuff in my ever-so humble opinion.

My Apocalypse?

I don't like it as much as some of the other stuff... my personal favorites are Sicide & Redemption and The Unforgiven III.

It almost sounds like they used a synthesizer brittany-spears-style on his voice in My Apocalypse.

I love One and the entire Black album.

Ride te Lightning and ...And Justice are great for instruments over lyrics, but I think the Black Album has some of the best lyrics Hetfield has ever written.

My fav. album is ...And Justice though.

Well, he's 45, his voice was ruined long ago while he was recording a cover... '90 I think

He had to completely re-style his vocals, which brought about a change in the instrumentals and tuning as well.

I doubt they used anything like that, he's experimenting more now, hell, since St. Anger, what do they have to lose?

You're right - pride is already out the window. Don't they have enough money that he doesn't have to do anything else?

Yeah, but they've ALWAYS been the band that doesn't give a BLEEP what people think of them.

I prefer the case-of-beer-per-band-member-per-day recording days...

Their best albums were "Ride the Lightning" and ofcourse the classic "Master of Puppets". Everything else was just audience pandering.
St. Anger was better than Black album because they went back to their angry roots and not pop metal like the Black album.

The Black Album was NOT pop metal. There is no suck thing as pop metal.
