Good Morning,

I hope all of you had a great holiday weekend. I sure did!

Anyhow, I had some family (in-laws) come in from out of town this past weekend.

My sis in law works for a major large university in another state. She was telling us that a professor there just received a grant for $100,000 to start a class on how to use the Nintendo Wii.

Yes, that is one hundred thousand dollars; one tenth of a million.

I thought that was ridiculous and made it very clear to her as well. She told me that if you have a PhD you would be amazed how easy it would be to get a grant for just about anything you wanted to study.

Anyhow, I just wanted to share that with you all.

Hey, good morning.

I can't fathom what the educational purposes of a Wii could be, but there has to be some.

Wii is in trouble right now because one of the games told a 10 year old girl she's fat. I know I shouldn't laugh, but...

As far as that story, I heard that. How ridiculous that we live in such a touchy society.

If you are fat, you know you are fat. You dont get all worked up because an inanimate object told you so.

Back in my day...

the "hot" set-up was the Super Nintendo....

I had one....and we used to have a blast with "super mario kart".....I could smoke any of you guys at that game....

I'm not hip with todays games....just not interested anymore.....

Hey Ted!

Geez, I used to rent the original Nintendo when I was a teenager and keep it all weekend.

Played Mike Tyson's punchout till my fingers bled!

I love playing that Mario Cart on my daughters DS. She says I look funny playing with it because her DS is pink.

As far as eating this weekend, my scale says I gained four pounds this weekend.

What a way to start the week!! LOL

Hey LDS, it was so funny this weekend when you mentioned that Kips.

My mother at the time banked at the bank inside the Forum 303 parking lot. I recall the carrier getting stuck while she was cashing her check. They told us it would be a while, so we went there to eat. We got done and they were still trying to get the carrier.

I was only like 8 or 9. Thanks for the memory recall there.

So, it WAS by Forum 303. I thought so. The website I found said it was off of Main. Isn't there a Denny's or Jack in the Box there now?

Yes, it was like right as you would pass it up from what I remember.

When you said main in GP, I was like, hmmm...

I dont know what is there now. That area has gone to hell.

Not that it was any better when I was growing up there.

Well, they were too there when I was growing up.

That's why I find it so fascinating that we spend all this energy on the topic when nothing really has changed in 20-25 years.
