So , the city council is considering requiring businesses to turn out the lights at night? What kind of misguided environmentalism is this. Are they trying to drive businesses out of the city?
First they let the police get away with not responding to business burglar alarms until the owner or a private response team verifies that burglars are really there; and now they want them to do it in the dark?
This is just one more invite to criminals to come to Dallas and thorn to drive honest businesses and citizens out. We have one of the highest crime rates in the country and telling burglars that not only will the police not respond but that they will be guaranteed darkness in which to perform their crimes is not what we need to be doing.
When someone gets raped , robbed, or murdered on a dark property which was conforming with this misguided attempt to make Dallas a "green" city who is going to be held liable?

I have been a member of online communities for some years; most notably I was a long time helper giveing free computer problem solving help on the TechTV Call For Help boards; I continue to do so on several forums. My main hobby beyond computer help is cooking. Since my wife (a diabetic) had a heart attack and triple bypass it has become my objective to develop a healthy menu and lifestyle for us both and I think I have succeeded.
