I don't think I've ever posted anything in the Music blog before but here's something that should be of interest to local music fans.  The New York Times is featuring Denton in its Sunday Travel Section as "An Indie Scene That Comes With a Texas Twang."

And about time too. UNT has a jazz program rated second to none, but since everyone goes home during the weekend, excellent bands play to empty chairs. Don't go to Deep Ellum or expensive digs in Victory for second rate Muzak, head north to Denton. Then you can act like you discovered it. End of ad.
