Rich on the Road

TVNewser blog has another update on the Megan Henderson saga today.  Read it and weep Good Day fans.  Sounds pretty serious.

Henderson_5.13.jpgSo, Fox4 Dallas anchor Megan Henderson will be coming to New York, she will be filling in on F&F Weekend and she will be meeting with Roger Ailes. And she knows all about it...now.

After our story yesterday, that Henderson was a hit with the FNC higher-ups, Dallas TV blogger Ed Bark talked with the KDFW a.m. anchor about the news, which she was apparently unaware of. But then, that's what agents are for.

This morning TVNewser got the lowdown from FNC SVP Bill Shine, the guy who would know about these sorts of things.

Shine tells us Henderson will be "on the air the first weekend in June" (June 7-8) and she "will have a meeting with Roger when she's here."

As for her contract with KDFW, because she's already a News Corp. employee, Shine says, "if an agreement can be worked out, then she could be available" anytime. There's a window in Henderson's contract beginning this summer which allows discussion with other entities. So if they really like her, FNC would be wise to lock her in, now.

And beyond possibly becoming the new face of F&F Weekend, Shine says "We have very high hopes for her."

Frankly, simply doing the weekend morning show at FNC would not be a step up from Good Day in Dallas.  Again, I have not spoken with Megan about this and don't know anything more than what I read, but I don't think she'd move unless they were offering something more substantiall than that.

Rich,

Good point on Dallas being the 5th largest market in America. If I were Megan, I'd hire you as part of my "I need my money and I need it now" campaign!

(Okay, I am a bit cynical, but I want her to get the best deal)

It is only 10%? How can a person agent live on that? Well, perhaps you are a bit more frugal...

I like Meg, but i think she has hit her high point in Dallas. If she goes to FNC I don't think it would last long. But good luck to her if she does go.

I couldn't disagree more. She would be a star at FNC.
Probably will be, unfortunately for us.

Sure am going to miss mega when she leaves. I guess that she is getting something better. But I guess that who ever takes her place will able to fill her shoes. I will like; I said will solely miss her. She does have that warm friendy smile that I enjoy seeing every morning on Good Day.

I remember when Julia left. I hated it!! She was just so darn cute and I loved her silly personality.

Now Megan is leaving? Wow.....more big shoes to fill Fox 4. Good luck with that.

It's not a done deal. She's not gone yet. Cross your fingers.

Cross your fingers FOR or AGAINST, Rich?

I think this would be a great move for her and I hope it goes through. I'd love to see her on the national news.

I'm selfish. I'd like to see her stay in Dallas for a while longer.

RICH ON THE ROAD I am blessed with a truly remarkable job that for decades now has permitted me to see corners of the world, far and near. When I'm not on the road for Fox4 News in Dallas/Fort Worth, I'm often traveling with my wife Catherine -- occasionally on mission trips in Africa or Latin America with our home church (Prince of Peace Lutheran in Carrollton). My contribution to this page began largely as a Travel-blog -- sharing current and many of my past experiences in traveling America and the globe. I'm tryng, as we go along, to wade into a wider range of topics without getting in too much trouble. Richard Ray
