I think I waited until the St. Louis Rams were 0 and 6 last season before pronouncing them dead.. I don't need that much time this year. After starting the season 0 and 2, I have officially laid them to rest. And their coach Scott Linehan may soon not have to worry about how bad the team is because he may not have a job much longer. It's amazing how the one time "Greatest Show on Turf" could fold so quickly. They have one of the best running backs in the NFL in Stephan Jackson. One of the leagues all time best receivers in Tory Holt and their quarterback Marc Bulger aint chopped liver. But Linehan has taken a very good team built by Mike Martz and effectively torn it apart. This team is bad enough to lose 16 games this season.
When you also think about the Raiders, who began the season 1 and 1 including an opening season 41-14 drubbing at the hands of Denver and combine them with the Rams 38-3 and 41-13 disasters in week one and two...
I'm not sure I miss pro football in Los Angeles this season.

hi rick, i grasp your blog. yet a team can start slowly, end up 9-7, and the QB is in sync with two of his receivers....bing, bang, it's 20 point superbowl victory! there is an element of passer-receiver synchronicity which trumps the best defense. yes, the best team does need a good defense. i feel the defense is the neutralizing element. the game is based on runners or pass-receivers. love you...you handsome articulate man! peace!

as a lifelong RAM fan i feel your pain they look like they did when they were here..and this time you cant blame Georgia..they are truly one of the worst run sports venues ever along with the clippers..even the Tampa Bay Rays made it this year ..it makes you wonder why anyone buys a sports team if they don't want to win..last night as they said goodbye too Yankee stadium..even being a die hard RED SOX fan you still had to admire Steinbrener for what he did when he bought that club..and how that place will always be remembered....the RAMS are a disgrace ill still cheer for them only because being from the east coast once you adopt a team its forever ..so i guess I'm stuck for now..sometime i wish i was born in L.A. where you just pick whoever is winning and say your a fan even if you don't know one players name...NAH..the RAMS will win again someday.
